Had a problem when I woke up today with crackling distortion out of my left driver on my Hemps. Maybe some of the glue I wiped off with sandpaper from the drivers when I removed the help lead bottoms. I used a shop vac tube and sucked the back of the cup with the vacuum. Didn’t completely work. As a last resort I pushed on the cable insert into the left cup in and out and that did the trick. Clean sound now and happy again. By the way anyone on here totally I have communicated with that wants to add me on Facebook I just made an account on on Facebook look up Joe Odle from Litchfield, Illinois. Cheers.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to listen to the Grado GS3000x thanks to @ESL-1 and it was a very delightful experience. Anyone who is remotely interested in the GS3000x owes it to themselves to go and demo it (if possible). Stunningly beautiful Cocobolo cups combined with aluminum driver housings make this an exceptionally comfortable headphone, with a slightly warm and neutral sound. Thanks again, Joe!!!
I own the RS2e, which I love. I have been thinking of upgrading it to the RS2x...the only thing that has stopped me from making the change is the new cable. I sold my HF3 because I hated the cable.
It certainly has a special price. Not listened to this, but it has got to be hard to rationalize £2000+ for what appears to be a very similar headphone to those at a fifth of the price.
Maybe if I have a lottery win, or a rich uncle die.

This is going to sound ridiculous but I can't believe how much I'm enjoying my RS2x after just using the equalizer in Apple Music and straight out the headphone output of the Mac Mini M2 which now supports lossless. All the complaints for it sounding too lean and thin sometimes are gone.
I don't know why I have such a big prejudice about equalizer that I don't even touch it.
I can't find absolute no flaws with the RS2x right now. Feels like discovering the wheel.

As the current TOTL its U.S. retail is $1995. It is better performance by a good margin than any of their other less expensive models. The fact that there is a family related look will not really let you know how they may sound. The good news in my thought is they cover quite a range of price points and in my own opinion each of those steps reflect a price that is quite a value.
I was at a friend’s house yesterday and were running the GS3000x against a HiFiMan phone that was $3000. Two of us thought the Grado was very close if not better and one of us preferred the HiFiMan which cost my friend $3000.
Sounds like good value to me but of course everyone needs to decide for themselves. In addition if you have not heard something then that gives you very little idea of how it might sound to you.
Enjoy the journey, it’s worth the effort.
I rather wish you luck on the lottery as opposed to your mentioned alternative.

With the GH2, EQ seems like I'm substituting my sound for the one the headphone already provides well.
Surprisingly, I do use the Schiit Lokius on my HP2 though. Only a touch of boost to the highs, and it doesn't feel wrong since it's a slight change, and the headphone has the capacity to sound slightly more detailed than the stock tuning.
