New cable ?
Let’s hope it’s detectable.

I think he's talking about the new, more flexible cable. I've got the same one on my PS500x, and it's not detachable.

RS2X are very trebley probably the most of all my 7 X-series Grados (treble presence/intensity)...i like their bass tone very much they are my 2nd favorite Grado overall.
Thank you, that is useful information for me.

If you find too much treble energy with the 325 try a piece of 3 ply tissue paper over the driver.
Place the tissue paper between the driver and ear pad.
You can experiment with 1 ply and so on.
Thank you for that suggestion. That is a useful thing to know about. In fact I'm okay with the amount of treble in the SR325x however I'm interested to know about the amount of treble in the more expensive cans.

Here's a good example of two people hearing something different. I don't find the treble to be a problem with my RS2x's. And I don't care for bright headphones. My AKG K702's were too bright when I first got them. I did a bass mod and I eq them so now they are enjoyable to listen to.
This is part of the hobby. Everyone's ears are different. Nobody is right or wrong.

Yes, that is very true.

I haven't actually listened to my K702s for a few years, I bought them in 2010 and I used them as my main headphones for quite a few years. I think the treble on them is higher than the SR325x cans, however I'd need to get them out and check. I never did anything about the treble on the K702s, I just used them, occasionally the treble on them bothered me but usually it was okay.

It seems I couldn't resist buying the GS3000x ! I had to return the Sr325x but I am sure I will not regret it.

Congrats, I am sure you will not regret it, superb phone. I found them good out of the box but they benefit very nicely with a good amount of break in (200 hours). You’ll probably be surprised with the sonic changes even as you pass 50 hours. Pick some well recorded tracks that you are familiar with to check progress (No Test Tones).

All the above I am sure you are familiar with but it can’t hurt to throw it out there.

They are light & comfortable and the wood grain is quite impressive.
Enjoy the journey and the music.

Easy Fix…. Cut out the college assignments and just listen to your Grados, then you won’t miss a note 🎵
x-driver constant listening 🥹 --> ex-pelled from college 😳😫 ...

That’s a very nice and practical set of bonuses.

I am sure you’re aware of @Jonathan c’s wood care routine.

I just saw Rich's message in the Grado Facebook group!

I don’t have any photos yet but I’m going to have 2 special headphones available, small quantities.
First is an SR325x with a gold housing. Second is a crazy hybrid, the insides would be a PS2000x if we released one. A 52mm X driver, new cable, PS2000 headband, with a maple sleeve but in a PS1000 housing.
More information to follow…
Just found my wallet. Tried to hide under the couch. Will keep an eye on it these days.
