It is Wonderfull that we are all different. But I guess that you use your Grado´s more from a stationary position or I cannot understand how you could say that from a practical perspective.
I've been using the nuggets for a few days and I'm a fan so far. I'm almost always wearing a baseball hat, and the particularly flat headband of the Hemps was resting almost all of the weight directly on the button on the top of my hat. I can't speak to the long-term stickiness yet, but they definitely help me with my problem.Sigh.. yup same here. It feels like the metal part is digging into my skull after an hour or so. I have to keep moving it either slightly up or down when it starts to get uncomfortable. It becomes better when I do that.
Seems like there's a few options to fix it though. Dekoni has some nugget pads, but I worry about them sticking on after awhile. I think a better option would be to just replace the headband. The Turbulent headbands look pretty solid. I really like the colors that they have. I might get one of them eventually
Come on guys...use another headphone or stopping walking around the house.
I bought my RS1e new from them. Did the detachable cable mod. Also got the Blue Dragon with the connectors of the HD8xx. Great service, great workmanship. However, I am not fond of the cable itself. Too stiff for my liking. Love the connectors though....Lol I was thinking the same thing last night. I wonder if they would still honor the warranty if I got it recabled at Moon Audio (as he does sell them new/recabled)? So expensive, but the Blue Dragon sounds like a good match with Grados.
• Are you using F-cushions on Hemp? On the RS-2x, L-cushions? Those are ‘stock’.Hemp's pads are very comfy to my ears, but seems that RS2x pads maybe are not so comfy
So, what pads affects the sound as little as possible? Dekoni velour has measurements that shows they might create sibilance?
Soundstage is important too, i don't want changes there either.
And Dekoni velour is 44mm thick, that must do something to sound also?
Keep the originals and get used to it?

EDIT: Ooops, that measurement is GS1000, it uses G-pads? So, can't compare changes to RS2x (with L-pads)?
Yes, i use stock pads with both. I tried Hemp's F-pads to RS2x, ruins the soundstage.• Are you using F-cushions on Hemp? On the RS-2x, L-cushions? Those are ‘stock’.
• I really dislike the L-cushions: as uncomfortable as hell; they impart a ‘cupped, hollow, shrieking’ quality to sound - especially saxophones .
I like Hemp stock pads, comfy and sound is good. So i'm not gonna change Hemp's pads. I tried G-pads on Hemp, awful result.I haven't tried the custom velour, but if you were to try them out on the Hemp, my guess would be that it adds a little more subbass while also taking the treble back slightly. Maybe emphasis on the midrange and warmth to vocals too. Seems like they would still do a good job at keeping the Grado sound. I've been thinking about getting a pair for the Hemp to try them out. Seems like they are worth a try. However, I really do enjoy the sound from the stock pads.
