But the sig is quite close to the PF? I tried the PFVIII and liked it but the the fit is troublesome.

Mike, best to try it first. It will depend on the shape of your ears: I actually find that the PFs balance better in mine than my 1601SB...

Second that! Try it to see if it fits.
Initially, I also thought it will fall off by the look.
But after trying it out, and eventually owning it, it stays and balances on my ear very well :)

Yes the PF sits surprisingly well, takes quite a lot of shaking to dislodge it. Wont work for headbanging though, but then it does not work for that kind og music anyway :)

When I purchased my PF-IX, I was concerned that fit might be an issue, based on their appearance. I found that they actually fit my ears perfectly and after warming to body temperature, they actually seem to disappear. It is easy to forget that they are in place. I can shake my head from side to side and they remain securely in place. For those with smaller ears, it would certainly be beneficial to give them a try before purchasing.

As often mentioned, the PF series is not a do-it-all phone, but for vocals, jazz, acoustic and small instrumental groups, they are truly a magnificent instrument!

Try the lab1 if you could find one Mike, makes other top tier IEMs sounds artificial.. enter lab1, the tera version of iems (without the rolloffs):)
well there are no Lab 1 left. Besides I am always wary when EVERYBODY says an iem is the best thing since sliced bread and it makes them want to abandon everything else including food and sex. Plus it's ugly.

But I would love to try.

Lol, the lab1 is turning listeners into eunichs.

I would argue the LAB 1 is turning its listeners into very happy listeners. To the point they feel uncomfortable constantly singing the praises of how good the 'phone is, due to the fact that it is so expensive as well as nearly unobtainable.

Maybe it's just a coincidence that EVERYBODY that has heard the LAB 1 gushes over it....

As far as it's ugliness, well, with the proper lighting I think it looks halfway decent.

If it wasn't for some of your excellent photography (of the Lab1 and other Final product) someone could have told me they bought them off the rack at Big Lots and I'd have believed them.

It's the final stage of the audiophile after emerging from chrysalis. Its vestigial sense of pragmatism withers away and is replaced by a smug sense of self satisfaction. It then osmotically derives sustenance thru confirmation bias. Sadly, the audiophile is attractive to no one and so it spends its twilight years either alone and misunderstood or aggregating in herds, forever waging a battle for tribal supremacy, in which there are no victors

Kidding aside, I am now listenin to the dearly departed Crystal Castles by way of the SS. Very happy to finally have the LAB's foil in my grubby mitts

Not necessarily true, for my case anyway. Got JH13FP not too long ago, but despite the 10/10 score from joker and how everybody says how good they sounded, but I dont feel anything special, as a matter of fact they almost got no ear time from me. But, OTOH, the lab1 is truly something special, too bad medium stock tips are fatiguing and not that comfortable after couple hours of use (compared to the custom iem fitting ie. SE5, JH13FP), otherwise it will definitely be the most perfect and an end game headphone for me.

I am considering getting a custom silicon sleeve done for the LAB 1 as a friend (who is a hearing aid specialist) has agreed to help. Am just afraid of damaging the LAB 1. Was thinking of getting a cheap Heaven II to dummy as the LAB 1 in the moulding process. Anyone has got both and can advise if the bores and cylindrical shapes are close enough?
