Got D8K, first impression is... It is as good as I've read everywhere, bass is simply magic and the highs doesn't pierce my delicated ears at all which is all I ask for (F pads)

Could be the perfect brother of the D8KP but I'm a basshead, we'll see haha

Will try with HA-6A later, so far with the V281 is magic (also G and H pads when I receive them)
Spot on. You definitely nailed it.

Hello guys,
I'm considering the D8000 Pro Limited for metal (power and symphonic such as Nightwish, Rahpsody of Fire, Kamelot, Epica, Evergrey, etc.) exclusively. It would be powered by a Hugo2 as an amp+DAC combo. What do you guys think of the D8kpro Ltd in this context? Would a Utopia 2022 / Caldera / Diana MR be any better?
Thanks in advance!

If you are sensitive to treble over 10k but want clean and very good bass - a DCA E2 used could be picked up at a lower price. The D8000 Pro has a bit more grunt and timbre it's true. Just an idea. If you could find a minty LCD-4 that might actually challenge.

D8000 Pro is excellent on metal. But in my view you need to pair it with a good SET tube amp. It scales it to a different level.

PS. Before buying a new headphone try to listen to Coventhrall - Legacy of Morfuidra because it blocked my playlist for 3 days. LOL

Thank you sir, it is the very first headphone I own where 100% I need NO EQ at all, super happy with it

I thought about this also. They really do complement each other so well
Yup but still a long way because am going to compare both extensively, specially the Pro with the same tuning as the OG thru EQ with G and H pads

Jose, do not torment me. You know I sold my D8000 OG and I regret it. You are so right.
Sorry I'm such a tease but I must say OG with "bassy" tubes can be too much while Pro is perfection if the highs are just a bit tamed :p

My kind of crazy stuff!
This hobby just too good with passion and mind

Recently, I ve purchased brand new d8000 v(non pro) around 2K and it is real bargain! The only thing I was concerned about is the ergonomic issue with the stock pad, which is resolved with ZMF bokeh suede pads.

ZMF pads fit on the D8000?
yes. Since the diameter of D8000 pad and ZMF bokeh (or Caldera) are same, there is no need for any adapter to put bokeh pads on D8000. The ZMF pads are also 18 mm at their thinnest and 23 mm at their thickest point, which means that the drivers will tilt forward when mounted on my head. To my ears, I feel higher sound pressure compared to stock pads at same volume.
