ordered twice from this site , first ringke case for my sold s9 then for my j3.

  so , does anyone here have a 2nd(or a 3rd) J3 as a backup ?

if not , what would you consider buying as a J3 replacement ?

I got myself a J3 backup, mostly by accident as I happened to spot it in a pawn shop window. The battery is slowly failing on my main J3 so it's good to know I have a replacement at hand.
 
I've considered buying the Fiio X3 but the battery life seems to be fairly poor so I've decided to wait and see what the X5 will be like. I'd gladly get an A&K but the prices are a bit steep for me.

It really is. I'm sure there are better sounding players but the price vs performance ratio, especially when including the amazing battery life, is very hard to argue against. I wish Cowon would make a J3 successor.

Me too. Combining J3 user interface and battery life with recent improvements in affordable sound quality would result in a great product.

Def try a different cable. Also, the obvious ... re start your computer as well ...

Like mentioned above, restart your PC and try a different USB port.

If all that fails I would then do a soft reset from the J3 menu options, then as a last resort reinstall the firmware.

Try the easiest/quickest options first like a different cable, restart, different USB ports

Also give the J3 port and cable port a blow to try and clear any dust.

I didn't even know we had a J3 thread! Unfortunately i ended up with a AK100 but will go Cowon next time again.

The S9 has some consistently great reviews.
