HD 595 vs HD 25-1 II
Hi guys, I'm looking to buy some new headphones for both home and portable use, and I've narrowed it down to these two, based on price, reviews, and my own previous experience with Sennheiser. I'm just eager to hear what you guys have to say before I take the plunge. Which one would you...- episteme

So what's the dealio on these 'phones? I can't find anything on them! I just happened to be looking for a pair of portable headphones when, bam, these babies are up for a fearsomely good price! Anyone have a thought or two to share on'em? Wow, it's easier to talk like a jackass than I thought...- episteme

Help confused girl!
I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the ATH-SQ5. As far as I know they can be had for pretty cheap in America and sound (not to mention look) pretty sweet, and are pretty comfortable too. And they're compact! Did I mention the 3 different colours it comes in? *takes check from Audio-Technica under...- episteme

Sound Card as DAC?
I'm sorry, I may have phrased my question poorly. My question was if having a good soundcard makes a DAC unnecessary, as I already have an Asus Xonar. Thanks a lot for the response- episteme

Sound Card as DAC?
From what I understand, a complete PC setups consists of a PC (durr), a DAC and an amplifier. However, I have an Asus Xonar soundcard. Does this mean I can forgo the DAC? I've my heart set on the AKG 701/2 and a Little Dot MKII but that's the limit of my budget, so I was wondering if any...- episteme

Props to Bose
Bose's reputation among non-audiophiles is truly stratospheric, thanks to their marketing tactics and their second-to-none customer service. I recall seeing a customer satisfaction survey a while back on Gizmodo. Bose was number one by a loooooong shot.- episteme

AKG K701
I'm a bit confused. The SQ of these headphones is often compared to that of the HD650. Yet the K701s are almost half the price. Is there something I'm missing out on? Also, does anyone have any recommendations as to what a good amp for these 'phones would be? Thanks in advance- episteme

Mmm. I'd get the Asus Xonar, I have one and it sounds great. The Z-5500 doesn't need an apmlifier, but as far as I know it's hardlyan audiophile-quality speaker :S- episteme

What do you guys think?
Hi all, new user and absolutely fascinated by everything going here (though my wallet would beg to differ :P)! I am thinking of ditching my Bose (ahem) speakers for something a bit nicer - my friend recommended a Jolida 102b and a set of Usher S-520s. What are your thoughts on this? I already...- episteme
