I personally had the Technics. They were great FOR DJS. I didn't have any other over-ears at the time, and tried wearing them for general use. Not good. They are pretty tight, but they won't fall off your head while finding a rhythm. I would say they have the best value of the DJ cans out there right now. Most reviews say they sound better than the similar Sony v700s, and I think they look better.
If you have a chance to test them, do. I hear the DJ1s are great, and the HD25s are supposed to sound sick. But the HD25s have studio drivers. So, I'm not sure how loud they can get through a mixer, but lots of Djs are using them, and they have fully replaceable parts. The Technics only have a pull-out cable.
With Dj phones I find the most important thing is bass. I definitely got that with the Technics. Too bad I sold mine. :|
