Just take special care when terminating your DIY digital cable...look up the best way to terminate it (using the jacks you have selected for the job) without introducing easily avoided mistakes which WILL effect the SQ of the finished cable. Some used Maggie 1.6QR's are unbeatable speakers..the B&W's are quite a bit different than the JBL's from a voicing standpoint whereas the Maggies/ET's are in a league all their own. Hard to say for sure. Pop the lid of the amp and check the fuses, there are 3 of them that I can see if it's the Integrated version (make sure you've had the amp unplugged for a while before doing this).   It could be something as simple as a blown fuse or something as serious as a blown...

Well through some rather good luck and a little elbow grease (did a favor for a friend by mounting an HDTV Antenna at his cottage last weekend) I managed to secure a 1978 Vintage Pioneer SA7700 amp for free (in good working order, other than a few lights being out which will be swapped for LEDs)...
