I have a pair of APureSound recabled Denon AH-D2000 headphones coming, but it has a 1/4" plug termination that fits none of my sources. Will the use of a Grado 1/4" to 1/8" adapter defeat the purpose of the recable (i.e. degrade the sound quality)?

What are the alternatives to the stock pleather earpads on the Denon AH-D2000/AH-D5000, and what difference do they make? I think I read in another thread that Beyerdynamic DT770 earpads fit, but it wasn't quite clear if it fit perfectly or made any improvement in isolation/sound. Thanks!
