What are the alternatives to the stock pleather earpads on the Denon AH-D2000/AH-D5000, and what difference do they make?

I think I read in another thread that Beyerdynamic DT770 earpads fit, but it wasn't quite clear if it fit perfectly or made any improvement in isolation/sound.
