I went from a JDS Atom to Schitt Magni and have ended up with a Topping A30 Pro. Although the Atom and Magni are capable, for me the A30 has much more headroom and really gives something special when I want to notch that volume up just a little bit more. The last 2+ years with it and the EdXS...

I went from maxxing out a Magni+ to a comfortable 12oclock @ Medium gain on the Topping A30Pro using a D50s Dac and love this combo with the XS.

I've used both revisions of the XS and definitely get a hotspot. It also happens with my 400SE and 560v4's which use the same style of band. I've modded all of them to emulate the suspension style and my listening sessions are bliss now :).

My Rev.1 pair failed after about 5 months with the right driver failing. I'm 4 months in on my 2nd pair and so far so good. The XS are my 4th HFM headphones and the only ones that have had a failure.

I agree.. It's gonna do your head in every time you have them on. Because you know it exists you'll be consciously listening for the noise to surface.

I totally agree with this. I can walk around the house with the XS plugged into my S9+ and they get loud enough to enjoy but once you pump some juice into them through a decent amp and feel some bass through your jaw bone, that's when the 'holy $h*t' lightbulb goes off :).

I bounced through the the JDS Atom, Schiit Magni 3 + and have settled on the Topping A30 Pro :) 👍.

The headband does have a bit of 'looseness'. If you put a bit of pressure on the cups and move your jaw does the creak still occur?

Yeah I get that creak when I wear glasses. In my case it's the earpads rubbing on the arms when I move my head/jaw :).

I'm more of an Electronic guy for which these cans are also superb. If you could recommend a couple of your standout classical tracks I'd be keen to have a listen :).

I've just received (July 21) my 2nd pair from A2A and they're in the same packaging as yours. My first pair came in a nice black box which had the silk lining, this pair not. Also, the card with the 2 serial numbers for the driver warranty was absent with this 2nd pair.

Yeah been through the fault finding and it's definitely the driver. All good, it's under warranty so back to the retailer it goes 👍.

Mine failed last night, right driver is dead. Was working fine, paused for dinner, come back and nothing from RHS. Purchased late February and used daily. Bummer!

I have to say for EDM the XS soundstage is sublime :))

I'm hearing you with the discomfort of this headband. It sux. I get the same painful experience with the 400SE and 560v4 as well but also having the HE35x with the suspension style headband which feels like there is nothing on your head, I knew I was going to have to try something with the XS...

I'm hearing you... Its been a slow journey but I've learnt when to slow down and appreciate and enjoy what you have 😎✌️. My problem with headphones is that I like to keep them 🤯
