Modi 2/Magni 2 connection issues
Thanks to those who chimed in. I was able to resolve the issue by moving the CCK USB power source to a dedicated 2.1A adapter. The 1A USB source was not providing enough power on its own.- camaker

Modi 2/Magni 2 connection issues
It is set on S for simple mode. The idevice is not the only source of power. The CCK connector has its own Lightning port that is connected to a separate USB power source. There should be plenty of power. I'm not getting the "this device draws too much power" error on the iPhone/iPod, it's like...- camaker

Modi 2/Magni 2 connection issues
It's the setup that Schiit recommends on their site. The USB3 CCK has a Lightning port of its own that is plugged into a USB source in addition to the power being supplied by the idevices. Hard to believe it's not getting enough power.- camaker

Modi 2/Magni 2 connection issues
Just got a Modi 2/Magni 2 stack today and haven't been able to get it to connect to my iPhone/iPod. The signal from the Lightning port doesn't seem to be making it to the Modi 2. Here's the set up: iPod Touch 5G/iPhone 6S+ -> Apple USB 3 CCK (powered through Lightning port) -> USB 2.0 cable ->...- camaker

Recommend a dac/amp for iPod/iPhone
I've been using the following setup for bedside listening: iPod/iPhone 6S -> Vamp Verza -> SRH1540/HD600 I've been pretty happy with the setup, but the battery life is starting to wane a bit on the VV and there's nothing worse than a dead battery on a device that can't be charged and used at...- camaker

*Official Schiit Magni/Modi 2 ( Uber ) Thread*
Apologies if I've missed this info somewhere definitive but I'm looking into a desktop amp and dac for use with my iPhone 6S+ and iPod Touch. I plan to use the setup with HD600s and SRH1540s. Does the M2U/M2U stack eliminate the need for the powered USB hub due to the Modi 2U having the...- camaker

V-MODA CROSSFADE WIRELESS: Exclusive Preview, Videos, Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
I am on my 3rd pair of CFW and all have hissed to the point that wireless mode is essentially unusable for me due to the distraction it causes. I have had a number of different BT headphones (Matrix2 AF60s, LG Tone 700s, et al) and the CFW hiss is far and away the most prominent of any of them...- camaker

I have read this claim or something equivalent to it numerous times through this thread. Given the underlying hiss that is clearly audible during quiet passages of music in wireless more and is most definitely NOT there in wired listening, how are people making this claim? I bought into the hype...- camaker

Definitely. Tried them with iPhone 6s+, iPad Air and iPod touch. Even tried multiple locations to rule out interference with the BT signal.- camaker

I am at a bit of a loss as to what to think/do with my CFWs. I'm a big fan of V-Moda products in general and love their build qualities and sound. That being said my CFWs have a very distinct hiss underlying quiet passages of music and between tracks. It seems to have intensified over time to...- camaker

Has anyone noticed a distinct hiss underlying silent or quiet passages in music? I can't tell if it's an expected Bluetooth artifact or an issue with the headphones I should contact V-Moda about.- camaker

Val was on a day or so ago and said that those of us eagerly awaiting our preorders of Gunmetal and Rouge should receive them by the end of next week. Fingers crossed. I'm pretty sure the wait on the website applies to new orders.- camaker

If you really want a pair, go ahead and order them and accept the projected delivery time. There's not really a downside. If they come in early, you can be pleasantly surprised. at the very least you get "in line" for a pair. You certainly won't get them any earlier if you wait to order.- camaker

This is getting embarrassing for this site and the people on it. There is absolutely no indication that the voucher has been extended. All of this uproar is based on a snippet in a CNET article that states that these new headphones come with the same shield deal (aluminum/fiber) that ALL new...- camaker

Oh, I certainly agree that certain aspects of this situation were not handled optimally on the V-Moda end. The Cliq-fold would definitely have been better left "unexplained". I would not, however, jump to the conclusion that the Gunmetal and Rouge are delayed another 4-6 weeks. The website...- camaker

You don't want to bash them and I don't want to come across as an apologist, but I think there are some misconceptions at play here. First, Val didn't say 2 weeks for pre-orders and 3 for official release. He said Head--Fi members were getting a 2 week window to place pre-orders prior to...- camaker

I understand being frustrated over the wait, but calling things ridiculous is a bit much at this point. In the original post Val said the units were expected to ship in ~3 weeks. That post was made <4 weeks ago. Any time a new product is announced and released there is a possibility of delays...- camaker

To be fair, AnakChan says several times that he has used the CFW in BOTH wired and wireless modes and has given his opinion on their sound quality. I'm also not sure how this thread is misleading, either. The company has come on here and listed the selling points of a new product and someone has...- camaker

I can confirm that the voucher is only for custom shields. The e-mail with the voucher code has this statement: "The VIP Voucher Code is valid just for the purchase of Over-Ear Custom Shield kits" Hope this helps clear things up!- camaker

I am currently looking at getting a less portable bedside amp/DAC setup for my HD 600s/SRH1540s. My current setup is a Vamp Verza with an iPod Touch 5G as a source. Would the magni/Modi 2 stack offer me a significant boost over what I currently have?- camaker

V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS
I had the M80s and ended up giving them to my daughter because of comfort issues. Decided to give the XS a shot and I will say they are more comfortable than the M80s, but not by a large margin. Still have to take breaks every couple of hours due to ear soreness. I do wear glasses, though, so...- camaker

Thanks. I think the lack of line out probably precludes using the Clip with the Verza. That's too bad since the price point was really nice as a low risk test bed.- camaker
