I've been using the following setup for bedside listening:

iPod/iPhone 6S -> Vamp Verza -> SRH1540/HD600

I've been pretty happy with the setup, but the battery life is starting to wane a bit on the VV and there's nothing worse than a dead battery on a device that can't be charged and used at the same time.

I've been looking primarily at the following options for replacing the VV: Schiit Modi 2/Magni 2 and Oppo HA-2SE. I'm leaning toward the Schiit stack at this point. I don't really need the portability of the Oppo but it looks like a nice, easy to use option (once the iOS issue is resolved.

Any recommendations or comparisons between the two options? Is there another option that I should be looking to evaluate? I'd like to keep things under $300 or so and ease of use is a big consideration.

To me, it is hard to go wrong with the Schiit stack at its price point.
