Nationite - s:flo2 vs MidNite?
I too would love to see maybe a dedicated thread on tablet SQ comparisons, including with iPad.... there aren't a lot of tablets out yet, but enough to get started till the deluge shows up in a month or so (CES, anybody?).- Ruze

How does the uDac honestly stack up?
Has anyone compared the $300 DACs with the Beresford Caiman in the same price range? It seems to be getting some good press lately. I just recently got a DAC Extasy and I have to say it performs much, much better than I was expecting. I'm comparing it to an HK receiver from yester year...- Ruze

Amp3
I guess turning off random play does kinda work, but it's way too fiddly for every day use, and having to remember to turn it off/on every time. Usually my AMP3 goes off due to the 3 hour timeout anyway. Should be trivial for the mfr to add code like: (turning off->turn off random mode->turn...- Ruze

Amp3 or iPod 5th gen in car
SQ is a lot better on the AMP3, but UI is likely unusable in this scenario except for next track/prev track, volume and play/pause. I've noticed better quality sound even hooked up to an FM transmitter. It's definitely better using an aux input. Hiss hasn't been noticeable for me but it's an...- Ruze

Amp 3 Help
I think he means around the same price point. I have an iBasso T4 which cost $109 and it's laughably toy-like and not even in the same region of sound quality. I have no idea about the D2+ Boa which is $169 for the amp alone, not amp+transport as the AMP3 is. I'd still rather take the AMP3...- Ruze

Newbie lookin to improve ipod Classic SQ
A good cheapie solution for me was getting the ipod wired remote, which has a decent DAC (Wolfson?) built in. This can be unamped with IEMs, or amped.- Ruze

Amp3
Thanks for the bootup tips! I didn't realize I could plug the SD card in after boot. Tho most times I've needed to start up were after a reset.. hehe, no time to change the play mode. I've left it on day and night for the past 5 days just to get through burn in. It sounds so sweet now, there...- Ruze

1. Yes, through Explorer or other file/music manager. 2. You can put them in any scheme you'd like, but there are caveats which you can read in previous posts on this thread. If you have too many files in a folder it takes much longer to start up, and if an MP3 is bad, or maybe other unknown...- Ruze

Amp3
As one who just bought the AMP3 this past week and it just finished burning in, I have a perma-smile on as well. It occurs to me though, that if Hisound would consider releasing their software as open source, that would solve a number of problems: 1. It could be fixed/updated by an...- Ruze

SE530PTH for 300 or W3 for 400?
I don't know about the Shures, but my Ety 6is were a royal pain to take out and get seated back in with a proper seal. No thanks if I don't have to. The SE530s without PTH are only $20 cheaper anyway.- Ruze

SE530PTH for 300 or W3 for 400?
I'm looking for the best sound in general (at the 300-400 range), but pricewise the SE530PTH is looking pretty compelling at around 300 from ebay sellers with the PTH module. Has anyone used the PTH? I realize from the reviews that the W3 sounds better all around, but is 300 a fair price for...- Ruze

Need advice for new IEM ...
Speaking of which, how would the E500s compare to the list above? I have similar tastes to the OP and would consider the same range, except you can find the E530s now for $250 which isn't THAT much of a stretch more if they are definitely better...- Ruze

Got my CMOY - yay!
I was looking at the Total Bithead but the SO wasn't going for a $200 purchase to help out headphone listening at this point, and I already have USB DACs (more than 1) that do the job. So I found 'biosciencegeek' on Ebay selling CMOYs in a round altoid tin for around $50, and figured as my...- Ruze

Andrea USB pod
Has anyone ever tried this? I found one floating around from when I purchased a headset for use with Dragon Dictate and plugged it into my machine, along with my SR-80s. It seems to sound a way better than the Optoplay I tried along with it. Only around $40 too. I'm surprised there isn't more...- Ruze
