Until then the unit has 1 optical input, 1 coaxial input, a optical/coaxial selector switch and a pair of RCA outputs...

I have a 205.2 on the way. will post pics when it arrives.

Can this handle jitter from a low quality optical output such as directly from the motherboard? I have 3 graphics cards and my system can't tolerate any more boards - I had to take the AV-710 out

Same reason I have not said much since mine arrived a few weeks back, first and only DAC I have ever heard.
I did note an unmistakable improvement over my M-Audio card in most every way.

a bit n00b verification question here:
not all DACs will accept 24bit/192khz source through TOSLINK...?!

Other question that been already been posted, but haven't been answered yet was:

Looking for non-USB DAC that will accept 24bit/192khz source through TOSLINK and will have preferable 1/4"[6.35mm] headphone output. 3.5mm headphone output will do as well.
Price $250max[shipped]

Thanks in advance!!

I does up to 24/48, which is fine if you are not going to upsample.
It can utilize optical or coaxial digital input, and will not know if the source is the motherboard or other.

why only up to 24/48?
Right now i have Pioneer Audio Receiver[SX-316] that accepts 24/96 and outputs it into the speakers and headphones, i was looking to get something that will accept 24/192 and will output into 6.35mm headphones [may be i'm looking for wrong thing? and it's not DAC that i need...

Here is a screenshot of my motherboard sound current settings running with SX-316:

Why 24/48?
1- 48 suits me fine as I see no benefit in upsampling from the source rate
2- because this is 'NOS' (new old-stock) and was designed years ago when 48khz was likely standard
3- because this DAC can be purchased for under $5o, what do you expect?

Looks like you will need to look at a higher price-point
