Best headphone under 250 dollars for EDM Music

Don't presume anything when you've never talked to me on this site. I've owned the MS Pro in the past for a number of years. I would never listen to electronic on them. The only time I'd recommend it is with the MS Ultimate mod. I think you will find yourself in the vast minority with it as a...

    Audio Technica ATH-W5000 headphones

It can also depend on what genres you are listening to though as well. The TH600 is a top flight headphone if we are talking contemporary styles, maybe not acoustic/classical, as its tuning doesn't seem to be aimed at that dart board.   I'll give the W5000 another listen when I get down to A2A...

Ultrasone Signature DJ or Denon D7100?

I suggest you have a good look through the D7100 thread as it has plenty of impressions and especially look at the measurements, I'd prefer the DJ looking into the 7100 thread. If you are going to listen only at home then the TH600 is also a consideration as it has a larger soundstage, slightly...

    AKG K812 Pro

I agree with MuppetFace the HD800 has a very tight hard punch even on trance tracks well amped. Personally though I think the HD 800 sound incredible even on the Fiio X3. Not super heavy bass like TH900 or Sig DJ though. Personally I felt that the k812 was a bit beefier. k812 a tad harsher up...

    Audio Technica ATH-W5000 headphones

For me the the bass is lighter than all the other flagship ive heard. Including T1, LCD2-3-x-xc, HE500-6, hd800, dx1000, d7000, th600-900, sig dj, ps1000, k812     TH900, Alpha Dog, DX1000, Sig DJ are also in the upper end with the w5000. I prefer all 4 to the w5000 I heard. I couldnt...

Best headphone under 250 dollars for EDM Music

I'm amazed at the  above post, most of those headphones are never considered for EDM. I was going to recommend the DT770 here for EDM. Most of the above 'phones are fairly bass light for my tastes.   Sig Dj, TH600/900/D7000 and DX1000 were the 3 best ive heard for edm.   I listen to 80%...

Flagship headphones in the killing field

Been posted previously a few weeks ago. Pretty sure Tyll found the document from the original thread here.   While measurements are one of the best indicators for something that you have not heard yourself, I'd still recommend testing a headphone before writing it off. This document rates the...

Finding the Music through the Fog of Noise

The LCD is one of the least open totl headphones. HD seems down your ally if you are after detail and openess especially coming from speakers. Not sure how you will go with hps though with severe hearing problems.

Best headphones for under $350 give or take some.

Soundmagic HP100? Great all rounder, neutral, smooth and very versatile. Consider it, won't find that many here knowing of it existing though. I've had most of the portable headphones down at that price point and prefered these as a true all rounder.

Classical, Acoustic (Jazz, Flamenco, Live Gigs), Ambient Electronic, some Trance. Some well recorded rock albums some pretty great on them too.

Beats User wants to upgrade to Best quality possible for $400 or less.

Seeing heavy metal and electronic automatically made me think of the Beyerdynamic DT770 which comes in a 32 ohms model which should be able to be decent from your sources. I've had the DT770 and loved it for electronic and Rock/Metal. Closed headphone that is definitely better than a regular...

http://www.head-fi.org/t/663682/fostex-th600-or-hifiman-he-500/15#post_9948908   Considering you have the HD600, I'd say the HE-500 is the closest in sound while the TH600 is almost the complete opposite. You also sent back/sold a LCD2 and HE-400 - The HE-500 is similar to the LCD2 just with a...

    Fostex TH600 or Hifiman HE-500

I own the HD800, T1, LCD2, HE500, TH600, HD600, FA-011LE and am borrowing the PS1000.   What I mean by the exceptional quality of the bass is that it is both more powerful than any of the others, but also gets down into the lower sub bass reaches in EDM tracks like the LCD2. Something like...

    The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread

I got my HD800's today. I started off with Global Communications 76:14 to see just what had been raved about in a review I read. I can certainly see why, the layering is out of the world with these, the sounds appear and disappear almost ethereally. I then went onto Alice in Chains unplugged...

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones

A track that I previously used to test the Mad Dog for bass and spatial sound was       I'd definitely use it for the Alpha dog as well. The TH900 is the king of the hill for me with bassy music though, I'm a bit of a basshead in those genres.

Just was on Addicted to Audio's website for Australian headphone gear. Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)

Except the fact that the fake Beyer one was never on their site, while the Sennheiser one actually is ~ let alone some who think there is a different from listening themselves - including David himself whose impression backs up that graph sonically.

How Important Are a Headphones' Aesthetic Appearance To You? Favorite Design?

I like a headphone that looks nice but it doesn't impact which ones I buy myself at all. My favorite headphones looks wise are probably Grado GS1000, Audio Technica's W3000ANV + W5000, Fostex TH900, Stax 009, Fullsize Momentum, Phillips L1. All for different reasons from being stylish to being...
