    [Newbie Review] Sony XBA-H3

Hey guys! I'm not exactly a new member, but not an active one either. I usually jump on head-fi to read reviews on headphones or IEM's I'm interested in. I could only find 2 threads on the Sony XBA-H3's and after testing them for a bit, thought they deserved some more justice. Anyway I'm...

Headphones for drum and bass, dubstep for around 100$, advice?

Quote: in the same league (like the SRH840)?? Have you even used both headphones? They are noway near in the same league and have a completely different feel and sound signature to each other. m50's bass is punchier 840's are not. So I can't even see the comparison.   To Icyx With...

Help!!! Looking for first set of quality headphones

Springsteen sounds pretty mellow, you might want to try find some warm fun sounding headphones. As you know Melbourne weather is just screwed and it'll be summer soon.. nothing will save us from the 40 degree days. I've always found the SRH840 pads to be the comfiest but again they are bland...

Will my headphones even benefit from a cmoy pocket amp?

I personally didn't like the cmoy port amp.. sound started to distort about halfway. Like yourself I use the SRH840's but i guess its not bad for the price you pay, does the job to an extent. Just don't expect something spectacular.

An alternative to the M50 if one has a somewhat higher budget?

I purchased M-audio's Q40 a month ago and they are pretty impressive. I have only tried the M50's once so I can't compare them just yet. Probably write a review soon.

Adding a Subwoofer to M-audio BX5A (HELP AND SUGGESTIONS) A GOOD IDEA? (to replace Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultras)

Yeah that'll work, kinda strange how you want to hook up the iBasso since it is a portable amp but you gotta use what you have in hand.   BX5a's are a nice pair of monitors for the price you pay for them. And they certainly need a subwoofer to show their full potential.   How large is...

    HD 380 pro VS ATH-M50

Quote:  MORE bass? no.. MORE detailed bass? yes.    Quote:  I would say this all depends on each person. They are large headphones so I can imagine them being uncomfortable on some people.   But I personally don't think the ATH-M50's are suited for youself if you don't want...

    HD 380 pro VS ATH-M50

I highly recommend the Shure SRH 840's from your description of music. Very detailed with each and every sound. It has enough noise cancellation as they are closed headphones. In contract you won't get the soundstage your looking for as NC and SS don't go together. Don't get me wrong though.. it...

    1st pair of decent cans

I would certainly suggest sticking with the sennheiser tree if your looking at gaming. A lot of my friends are competative gamers and they all use them. I personally prefer the HD25's due to my taste in music.   You might want to re-consider using open headphones as they have better...

Rap Battle: Audio Technica M50's VS Ultrasone HFI 780

I would suggest listening to other peoples opinions first. I'm also interested in what M50 users would have to say about this.

Rap Battle: Audio Technica M50's VS Ultrasone HFI 780

I haven't personally listened to the M50's myself but the HFI 780's were pretty impressive. You're probably looking for deep punchy bass since you do listen to rap/hiphop.. eg. Tech N9ne.. I'd say either headphone would be fine.   Soundstage would not be as great due to the fact they are...

Looking for the absolute best headphones for laptop use (no amp)

possibly ATH-700 or SRH-840 doesn't seem like the music you listen to requires a lot of punchy bass. but possibly deep bass

    Closed Heaphones $100-200, Recommendations?

I would second the SRH 840's especially with your genre of music. The clarity and how it distinguishes each instrument is good. The kickdrum with rock music however could be too neutral sounding but that depends on what your looking for.

Looking for the absolute best headphones for laptop use (no amp)

It really depends on what genres of music you listen to. Different headphones are suited to different styles of music.. espicially what your really looking for in music. Everyone has different tastes. Maybe list a few of your favorite songs and people could give you some suggestoins to look...

Headphone Reccomendation (Tight, Loud, Punchy Bass)

HD-25, ATH m50, DT 770 (amped) Might want to look more into those headphones For people that recommend Shure's SRH840. These are definitely not for bassheads. I agree that they produce deep bass but it really does have not have the 'umf' factor.   If you don't mind IEM's I'd strongly...

    best computer speakers

Thats such a broad question.. it really depends on your preference and what you like.. For example is it just for music? gaming? movies? producing? My speakers are M-Audio BX5a's and BX10 sub.. they go great together nice clear mids and highs.. bass gets a bit choppy with very low...

    M Audio AV40 vs. Swan D1080MKII???

I've only heard the M-audio av-40's and i'd say they're quite nice for the price you pay. Don't really need a sub unless u really want to hit those lows. hope that helps

    M-Audio Studiophile AV30 Good ?

the AV30's are alright. I'd say the AV40's are worth the money you pay for them considering they're all in one speakers. M-audio products are generally good bang for your buck. congrats on your purchase. But i think the AV30's will leave you hanging for more...

Review: cMoy Headphone Amp Bass BOOST Edition

Just tried out the cMoyBB v2.02 with my headphones, can't say I'm utterly impressed but it does redefine the bass. I listen to music with heavy bass (hardstyle, hard trance, hip hop), the SRH840's has neutral bass to start with. The sound distorts at higher volumes. I'm going to purchase some...
