Anyone here modded AKG K26P's?
I guess the subject pretty much covers it. I've blue-tak'd and foam-removed my 81DJ's and am thinking about pulling the trigger on a pair of 26P's to serve as my travel cans, wondering if they can benefit from the same. Anyone try it or feel any desire to? TIA- Zaurusman

bad dream...
You know how you've seen people that were falling asleep and they have this strange twitch, then are out like a light? Do that at noon at work, without falling asleep, and it's time to reassess the situation. I find it happens more with the headphones on. And would almost kill for a full 9-10...- Zaurusman

Roll Call for Team AKG
I'm definitely an AKG 81DJ fan, if nothing else. Between their bass and isolation, and my newfound discovery of electronica, I am incredibly pumped and focused at work so much that the day flies by and at the end of it I'm shocked at how much I've accomplished. If anyone wants my pair, they can...- Zaurusman

Koss KSC-75
I haven't bought anything from him, but his price looks pretty reasonable to me. What I can't believe is that someone would pay $64 AUS for them! I bought mine on amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Por...9440378&sr=8-1- Zaurusman

KSC75s for 8.99USD at Amazon.
D'oh! I ordered mine a few days ago myself. Didn't pay any shipping though, 'cause I also ordered a CD with it and scored free shipping. Just came in today way ahead of what their tracking indicated and I'm pretty happy with the cans. For travel and workouts with my little Sansa, these are gonna...- Zaurusman

Just got my sr60s, wow!
Congrats on your Grados! I liked mine initially, but also noticed an improvement with mine post-break in, and then again after swapping to bowls from the stock comfies. The uncovered driver produces clearer sound to my ears. Believe it or not, I also prefer the comfort of the bowls, even new. Enjoy!- Zaurusman

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?
This evening I've been doing a second set of comparisons, this time not against my Sony MDR-V100's, but against my top-of-the-line (for Sony) tower speakers. My sources have changed in that instead of ripped lossless from the headphone out of my work PC, it's my turntable feeding a very...- Zaurusman

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?
Thanks for all the answers and ideas, guys! I think I have an idea of what I can expect from the higher end Grado products. Meanwhile, think I'll go place my order for AKG 81 DJ's for work and that way be able to compare the Grado sound with something else, etc. I got in a couple hours ago and...- Zaurusman

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?
I read the threads before I even dropped cash on the SR-60's and they cemented my interest. I've researched them (in theory) a lot here on Head-Fi. But back to my original question, how do they compare to the SR-60's? That's far more useful to me than an RS-1 vs. RS-2 conversation because I can...- Zaurusman

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?
No way! The RS-2's are already pushing the budget hard, and whenever I argue the price of RS-1's it mentions all my other hobbies that'll suffer and I shut up. I have better impulse control than the rest of you. Nyah nyah!!- Zaurusman

So this is the Grado sound! How do RS-2's compare to SR-60's?
So my new SR-60's came in today. They're replacing standard Sandisk earbuds and Sony MDR-V100's so old that they may predate Stonehenge. The tight bass, clearer highs w/o lisp ... I don't think I had an "eargasm" but after an audition with Def Leppard, Dido, The Sisters of Mercy's Some Girls...- Zaurusman

Bose QC3 and iPod
What about something that actually matches Bose for looks, et al? I'd show him a photo of ATH-EW9's and see what he says just in case. If you have Bose, you're another pretentious jerk with too much money -- possibly even to the masses who know nothing of sound quality. He's also transparent to...- Zaurusman

Nostalgia for really bad audio?
I hear you. When you have way improved equipment, you hear things again "for the first time." Sometimes, you want to hear it as you did back when. Your equipment was, to you, the piece de resistance back then and helped to make you who you are now -- hanging out on Head Fi no less. Back then, it...- Zaurusman

why doesn't velour make you sweat?
I wonder if perforating the pleather would help any, like perforating leather car seats supposedly does. Then again, leather breathes a little anyway (though not nearly as much as velour), so maybe it would just be a waste of effort. The pleather's flaking off my super-old Sony's, and my ears...- Zaurusman

Good introductions to diff. manufacturers' sounds?
Hi all! I'm just starting out, and this site has been really great for research. I've been reading a lot here in the past few weeks, and it seems common that a person forms a preference for a certain manufacturer's "sound," or a select few manufacturers' sounds. In order to avoid a total...- Zaurusman

gradio SR80 in short supply?
I ordered SR60's from Music Direct late January. They expected them the 12th, but when I inquired yesterday said their shipment had been delayed and they expect 'em in a week or thereabouts. (shrug)- Zaurusman
