I was just thinking the other day about how relatively inexpensive this hobby is compared to high-end audio and about the value of headphones, in general. Then it dawned on me that I've got a pair of Sony MDR-V6 that I bought back in '88 that still work. I've also got a pair of Beyer DT 990 Pros from about '92 still operational. The Beyers got a recent pad replacement and the Sony's need them also, but hey, 14 and 18 years is a pretty damn long time. Pretty good bang-for-the-buck I would say.

So...my oldest cans are 18 years old. How about yours?

Ciao

Just now remembered...I've got a pair of Kenwood earbuds from back in 1981/2 timeframe that I still use. So that makes them 24 or 25 years old. Amazing. Man, do I feel old.

Oldest in regular use HD565 (8 years). Most comfortable and easily driven from my VAIO. Not quite like the 580 but a similar character with more grain

I have a pair of JVC HA-D700 at work hooked straight to the motherboard (~18 years). Falling to bits but work like they always did (ie not that well)

AKG K240 Sextet,
purchased early to mid '70's from a high-end audio shop for $75.oo usd.
Still have them, still use them, still sound good.
No complaints

This one's been asked and answered, but I'll bite:
Stax Gammas circa 1984 if you don't count a pair on no names that made it home from a language lab eons ago.

10-11 years, but nothing to write home about. Just Sony MDR-V100's.

Some old panasonics, dont even remember the model. They are all taped up (in my avatar), but they still work. Although after I upgraded to DT770, these things suck big time in SQ comparatively.

Sennheiser HD280 Pros, 8 months. Used pure junk before that. Getting ATH-A900s on Friday.

I still have my first electrostatic headphones, Koss ESP6, which were purchased in 1970. A true stat man for a long time! Pro 4AAA preceeded these but they are long gone.

5 Year Old Sennheiser HD280's. I should post a picture of how badly broken the plastic headband is. Still work great though, no tears in the padding.

Unfortunately I cannot attest to owning headphones older than myself.
