PocketDock for 5G iPod; worth it?
In my portable rig, the difference is huge. Assuming you are using an amp, I can't see doing it any other way.- quackattack

Thoughts on a new podcast?
Hey Guys, I just started my own music podcast for independent rock music. I am looking for reviews/opinions/suggestions and anything else I can do better. I am new to the whole podcasting thing, so it is a learning experience. It is a weekly 20 minute show. I know podcasts are not exactly...- quackattack

TOOL's Danny Carey is a far better Drummer than I thought:
Your right, he is really amazing. I was a member of a college marching band, and I remember all the drummers were crazy about him. I had one of them break down some of his lines and progressions, really interesting stuff. Funky time signitures, I know one song (don't remember which) the time...- quackattack

Wow, that is great. I saw someone did the exact same thing with two Linkin Park songs. They were equally identical, and it was equally sad. I will have to see if I can dig that link up.- quackattack

Shure E4c/Ipod Needs Amp Help
One option you haven't mentioned. Consider Xin's Supermacro-3. I have one between my iPod and E4's. I love the sound and with the bass switch option it really fills out that low end. Also the option to roll the opamps lets you really get the sound you want. I am using SA5534 OBCA and I really...- quackattack

What is your next purchase?
The HD650 is my next purchase. It is going to be soon, as well. As soon as I get all my Christmas money counted I will be looking hard at the FS forum. I have a feeling that a MicroDAC and a Gilmore Lite are not far behind. I hope my Supermacro-3 can hold me over with these until I am able to...- quackattack

Powerbook or iPod
I used to have the headroom Total Bithead. After a while I decided to upgrade to my SM3. Wow what a difference. I did not mind losing the DAC at all. I think you would be better off with a really good amp running out of the headphone out than an "all in one" that may sacrifice amp quality...- quackattack

Powerbook or iPod
I have both a PB and an iPod. I run either through my Xin SM3 to either my E4's or SR-225. My music on the PB is lossless, and it is 256 VBR AAC on my iPod. So I am in a similar situation. To me running the line out of the iPod has much better sound quality than the PB (even with the lossy...- quackattack

Help Setting Up AirPort Express!
Make sure you have your prefs set in iTunes to stream to the APX. (Preferences-Advanced- Check "look for remote speakers connected through Airtunes") When you do this there should be a box to select where to stream the music at the bottom of the iTunes window. You can use Windows to stream...- quackattack
