Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3
Bought some ZMF lambskin pads for mine and that fixed the bass affecting the vocals (happened with a pair of on-ear Sony XBs I had a long time ago as well) and they sound pehnomenal. I legit like these better than LCD-2s, if they were more refined then they'd be better than LCD-2s. I also was...- xskugga

Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3
Just bought a pair myself as I wanted some Planars, but for some reason if I accentuate the bass in any way (be it boosting the bass directly or lowering everything else) there is added vibration that affects the vocals. Is anyone else getting this, if so, how do I best go about fixing this or...- xskugga

Looking for some IEMs.
I'm looking for some IEMs for work. Looking to spend no more than $300, won't be using a DAC or amp, and my source is an iPhone 6s plus with Spotify if that matters. Looking for something with heavy bass, liquid mids, and airy highs...but I have HD800s so the liquid mids and airy highs aren't a...- xskugga

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I would say more pronounced on both ends, but more noticeably in the highs. It doesn't make them more sibilant though.- xskugga

Recommend an Upgrade from My Denon D2000s?
Oh...you might want to try DT990, AKG K7XX (massdrop only), Fostex TH-X00 (massdrop only), Philips X2, HE-400/400i, or perhaps SRH 1540. All at or under $500. Have only tried the DT990s and HE-400is, you'll get soundstage comparable to $1500 HD800s (my current daily drivers and favorite cans)...- xskugga

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Got the Silver Dragon V3 a couple of days ago and did the anax mod...holy **** fam. I thought it couldn't get any better, but I was wrong. The soundstage is even like the grand canyon now, yet isn't too big, the sub-bass hits harder and has a better texture in general, the mids are LCD-2 liquid...- xskugga

Recommend an Upgrade from My Denon D2000s?
TH-600 or TH-900, the old Denons natural replacements as some say. Not sure about the soundstage on them as I haven't tried them myself but most say it's good, but the bass is among the best you'll find in headphones. Soundstage and bass are difficult to find, having been looking myself and have...- xskugga

DT990s ... Any Mods to Increase Bass?
They don't EQ well, I've tried with many different EQs but the Windows generic driver bass boost might help. This was the reason I dumped the DT990s and continued my search. I have tried many others, but only the HD800s compare so unless you got that HD800 money a solution to the bass issue is...- xskugga

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
Have tried both and the bad rep isn't at all deserving nor does it hold whatsoever. HE-400is don't even compare in anything but mids and bass. The mids are pretty good on the He-400is and did were slightly liquid smooth like on the LCD-2s, but not nearly as much, the HD700s still win. As for...- xskugga

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
The soundstage on the HD800s is quite a bit different. It's not only wider, but done much better. The soundstage on the HD700s bring out a tinny and hallow sound, you won't really hear it unless you've heard LCD-2s or HD800s, but it's definitely there. Everything about the HD800s is better...- xskugga

Schiit bifrost issue
No. The issue is that I ordered 230V and it won't work in the US as our power lines give 115V. It will work in other places though.- xskugga

Schiit bifrost issue
That's what I was thinking but couldn't confirm. I have contacted them and we're resolving it now. Hopefully I don't have to RMA. Will update for reference to other customers since there is no information on this issue to be found on the internet.- xskugga

Schiit bifrost issue
I am having issues with my new Bifrost unit. For whatever reason, I cannot get it to switch to USB, it is stuck on coax. I also cannot get it to be recognized unless I push the UBS-A end up to the top of the input, but it is recognized fine on another laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this, or...- xskugga

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I would recommend a JJ 6922 gold pin tube, they add a significantly more lively experience to any cans I feel. As far as the critics go for HD700s...I don't understand it. At first, I didn't really like them. It felt as though they were too open and too treble heavy After listening to them...- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
They came. My prediction was right. I use Million Dollar Man and Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey to gauge maximum vocal potential, and it's just as euphoric as on the HD700s. I feel like a wide soundstage would take these to the next level...but they're still damn good. The bass...- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Not what I want to hear...very worried now. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and they'll show me that soundstage isn't important if the mids are that good, but I may end up hating these. The soundstage on the HE-400is was disappointing, and that's comparing the T90s to them as I got them before...- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I thought the T1 had a very slightly wider soundstage than the HD700s, the T90s had a very cluttered soundstage to me. It probably had something to do with me switching to Equalizer APO, for some reason the T1s really opened up with that, but they're still only slight better than both the...- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I have a pair of T1s I'm trying as well, didn't ask as I know that has a slightly wider soundstage than the HD700s in my opinion. I've also had DT990s, but I couldn't push the bass even slightly further so I went to the T90s. I don't really want more than one as I have a certain sound...- xskugga

That should be fine...I hope. These are up to replacing the HD700s though. Have either of you tried the T90s? If so, how does the soundstage compare on those? So long as they aren't as bad as the soundstage on those then I should end up liking them.- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
How much soundstage is there compared to the HD700s on a percentage basis? My main concern is that the vocals won't be able to perform as well as on the HD700s as I feel as though ariness and soundstage allow vocals to come through much better. They are also fazor. I'm getting more...- xskugga

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Just bought a pair of these, and got two questions for all of you. If anyone has tried HD700s, how does the soundstage compare, and is the LCD-2 as airy, arier, or less airy? Don't really know what to expect as the only orthos I've heard are the HE-400is which probably don't compare much.- xskugga
