HD 555 vs. HD 600 : Bass quantity
Hello everybody, have a HD 555 and considering upgrade. I originaly wanted HD 650, but because of a huge price difference (90-100 euro) I give HD 600 a chance. The biggest problem of my 555s is that they are way bass-shy for me. I have to use this EQ setting to make them sound...- eraser_svk

Just put on my new pair of Sennheiser HD-595's, I'm disappointed!?
EQ them. + 5dB on 30-80dB, +4dB to 100 Hz, +3dB to 200 Hz, +2dB to 300 Hz and +1dB to 400 Hz should do the trick.- eraser_svk

Have HD 555, upgrade to ATH-A700 ?
Hello everybody, I have HD 555 and I'm considering an upgrade to ATH-A700. The reasons are : HD 555s opennes (leaks as hell) and the sound sig (way too bass shy and sometimes too bright for me). Will ATH-A700 be the right one for me ? Any thoughts and tips are welcome.- eraser_svk

LAME vs. Vorbis @ 210-250 kbps VBR
Hi evereyone, simple question - which one is better ? To my ears, Vorbis seems to be way better. LAME just seem to blur highs and kill the details in a very insensitive way (marginally) - it sounds uncomfortable to my sensitive ears though. Looking forward to your thoughts.- eraser_svk

new hd 595
I wouldn't worry about the headphones, I would worry more about ears of your brother . Sennheiser claim they can handle up to 500mW of long-term input power, so they must be ok unless they doesn't sound so.- eraser_svk

Sennheisers just hate EQ..Good or Bad?
I have HD 555 and I don't find EQ doing crap to them. Using one in foobar, nothing significant, only a moderate boost of 20-400 Hz to make them sound fuller and richer. Also a little hump around 1.2kHz to make them more concrete. And I must say pretty sucessfully, much better with EQ on. Without...- eraser_svk

How long to burn in a pair of HD555's?
On my 555s I noticed a pretty noticeable change after 10 days of 8 hours/day use (when not listening, playing on the table). Out of the box they sounded somewhat colored with very weak bass. Then the coloration disappeared and the bass got stronger. I am talking about the 50 Ohm version.- eraser_svk
