NAPOLEON DYNAMITE : Movie Impressions
I liked the movie. I saw it with three of my friends, and they all hated it. It was a beautiful portrayal of just how much high school sucks. It's overdone in a way that reminds me of Dilbert - the specifics are outlandish, but some people can really relate to the themes.- stereth

iAudio M3 or other player?
I don't mind the idea of using the remote on the M3, though I wish I could put it on random and just plug headphones in. I don't know much about the Creative.- stereth

iAudio M3 or other player?
Yes, another recommend-me-a-DAP thread. I'm looking to get a hard-drive player in the next few weeks. Here's what I need, in no particular order: Good sound quality 30-40gb with lossless encoding or 40-60gb for uncompressed wav audio Simple software $400 or less I think I've narrowed it...- stereth

Believe it or not: Motorcycle biker's 205 mph ticket
The quarter mile time is wrong. Pro stock motorcycles do the quarter in 7.3s at 185mph. 4.4s is dragster time, past 300mph. http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/146_perf_nums/ Looks like the bike has a top speed around 170, and there are some reports online of it going 180-190. Modified, I...- stereth

A/V replaygain
Found it! Playlist editor -> right-click on video file -> file info -> double-click "AC3 filter" -> increase master gain. Not perfect, but it's exactly what I need. Edit: Better yet, control panel -> ac3 filter.- stereth

A/V replaygain
I've been using Foobar for quite a while. I decided to try Winamp again because of its video capabilities. (And I have to admit, there are a lot of things I like in Winamp 5.)- stereth

A/V replaygain
I have a large and growing playlist of .flac and .avi files, music and music videos. I ripped the videos myself off the DVDs. Problem is, all of the videos are much quieter than the audio files. I'm currently using Winamp 5.05 to play them. Is there a way to add replaygain to all of these files...- stereth

pots with built in switch?
Not only do you need an audio taper pot, but make sure you get a dual pot. I haven't seen any of those with a switch. If you're really motivated, you could make your own - attach something to the shaft that would click a lever switch at minimum volume. I've also seen switches that attach to...- stereth

Using comp as PSU
A recharging circuit is definitely possible, but you'd need several poles on your power switch. In normal operation, ground is halfway between the battery voltage rails, so V+ is 6V above computer ground, and V- is 6V below. To recharge, you have to disconnect both rails from the amp, then...- stereth

Using comp as PSU
There have been many threads on Headwize about this, including several with single-ended Cmoy variants designed to work where V- is signal ground. Worst case, toss an 8xAA holder in the bay. It'll last for about a week and a half of constant use.- stereth

I have a handful of the adaptors, but I've never personally seen a dual-1/8" setup in a plane. They've all been stereo jacks or, in one instance, what looked like air hose receptacles. Or nothing.- stereth
