AKG K501, 601, 701 case
That's an excellent solution, Mr Fitz, however a bit too ambitious and space-demanding for my K400, 401, 500 and 501. I also thank Kobra for the Hong Kong option, think I'll try that one once I've reduced this particular collection to one or two headphones (right now K500 and K401 are most...- Navermyr

AKG K501, 601, 701 case
Oh, many bags/cases fit, thanks for the suggestions, but this series has its own peculiar requirements. The headband spring presses the pads together, and after a few years they get flat at the lower end. AKG recognised this problem and took care of it with the K701's simple little stand...- Navermyr

Those, who have AKGs, are outer diameter of k400\500\501\601\701 PADS equal to outer diameter of Sextett\k240\k241\271 pads?
The K400, 401, 500, 501 601 and 701 pads are all interchangeable. There are also threads on the virtue of specific combinations. Disregard the uninformed speculations above.- Navermyr

Orthodynamic Roundup
The modest outlay doesn't matter much, but it's annoying not to be remembered in the orthodynamic history records as the discoverer of the Laskys ortodynamic, the unknown species. Now I must accept the minor honour of having unearthed yet another ortho that wasn't. I haven't opened the...- Navermyr

Orthodynamic Roundup
Quote: The box and headphone are genuine, allright. Apparently sold in June 1980 for £8.50. I paid £29.95. Beats me why it's marketed as an ortho, except if "orthodynamic" was the magic word during those years. Yamaha, PMB, Fostex...- Navermyr

Got my Sony MDR-V7
Took my V7 out of the drawer after a year or so when I've accumulated several other headphones. Didn't sound bad at all listening to "The Music of Henry Mancini", especially "It had to Be Tonight (Meglio sta sera)" from The Pink Panther. Great. The sibilance and bloated bass I remembered didn't...- Navermyr

HIstory of Sennheiser HD 25
I believed the HD25 was introduced in 1988, Tyll says 1987. He's mostly reliable. Gonna find a pair of old HD450/480 released at the same time for 10-20 bucks and do some modding. Figure they've got the same 70ohm drivers as the original HD25.- Navermyr

Songs that make your headphone WOOOOOW!!!
Quote: And may I inform all readers that during the solo of Lazy, Ritchie Blackmore quotes the well-known Swedish Rhapsody Midsummer Vigil by Hugo Alfvén, composed in 1904. Richie Blackmore must have heard the popular recordings of this classical lollipop made by Percy Faith and...
