B&O H9 Discussion and Impressions thread
lol. Pretty funny, but joking aside I did say, "Over-Ear". H8's are On-Ear. And I respect SoundMark's review. The H9's are definitely not perfect and have many flaws. But it doesn't change the fact that there isn't a better sounding [Over-Ear, ANC, wireless headphone]. It's simply the best...- pilotISguy

Exactly. And I want to ask anyone who gives these H9s a bad review for sound; show me a wireless noise canceling over ear headphone that sounds better than the H9. Put them in front of me. News flash. THEY DON'T EXIST.- pilotISguy

I agree on all counts. Thanks for the link. That's what I had read awhile before receiving my headphones so I was confused as to why it drained. I hope they fix it in the update.- pilotISguy

In case anyone was curious about the auto off function.. This is B&O's response. I had it where my headphones drained overnight. But per their explanation it shouldn't have drained as my headphones weren't connected to any bluetooth source overnight. (phone bluetooth was disabled)- pilotISguy

I thought these things have an auto off feature. They were left in the on position and the music was paused. Overnight the battery depleted. Any thoughts?- pilotISguy

Chord Mojo vs. OPPO HA-2SE Comparison Review
It seems the Mojo is one of the best sounding portable DAC/AMP's out right now. Does anyone else wish it was... a little better looking? A little sharper like the Oppo. Personal opinion I guess. I currently have a Pico DAC/AMP, I've really enjoyed it over the last few years. It was truly...- pilotISguy

Yup you're right the MacBook transmits using aptx but unfortunately the iPhone at best puts out AAC over A2DP. Thankfully the H9's accept AAC because otherwise you'd be stuck with SBC, which is the worst of all 3. Sound quality from highest to lowest: APTX - AAC - SBC.- pilotISguy

If someone is looking for an ANC headset to travel with, I argue it is. (Jack of all trades) And again if you absolutely need ANC, which is why people should be looking at the H9, no other sound better. Yes 1,000 headphones sound better but they don't have ANC. To put simply; best in class...- pilotISguy

The H9's are seriously a jack of all trades. And undeniably the best sounding ANC headphones at the moment. (by far) With every report confirming they work very well on planes, what more do you want??? =)- pilotISguy

I have previously mentioned this earlier in the thread. I have also contacted B&O but they just gave a typical canned corporate response. Not acknowledging there is a problem or giving any solution. Even so I'm quite sure they will fix it in a firmware update. From what I can tell it is just...- pilotISguy

Thanks for sharing. 8.5 on comfort?? BS. These are hands down some of the most comfortable headphones out there! I do not get any pain on the top of my head. They are also very light in weight for everything they pack into these things. Comfort should be a 9.5 minimum in my book.- pilotISguy

Hey something I just realized while idly staring at the bottom of the H9 box. These headphones are Low Latency! over bluetooth. I thought I had read somewhere that they weren't LL, so I just forgot about it. But there it is right in plain sight. That's good for gamers!- pilotISguy

Has anyone been able to charge theirs over 90%? When I check the charge % via my iPhone, the max it shows is 90% shown on the 'Batteries' widget. I have tried with multiple iPhones and an iPad. Agreed 60-75% is good enough for most listening. (Apple music). Sorry to say thatton8769, I think you might want to try listening to music at a lower volume. Over time your ears will adjust and it will sound loud enough.- pilotISguy

After using the H9s and reading others impressions I'm confident B&O has taken ANC in a new direction. Some perceive the lesser strength a disadvantage but I feel it's quite the opposite. Unobtrusive ANC is the next best thing. It allows for superior sound quality while still keeping the sound...- pilotISguy

I think M&D make some of the coolest looking headphones. With sound quality only in question, how do the H9s and MW60 compare? And I was also curious about the burn in times. Good to hear the bass subsides. I feel they slightly change as they warm up. Becoming less harsh.- pilotISguy

Impressions only. I have not used them on the plane. Planes are around 76-84 decibels when riding in the back, I'm confident these would work well.- pilotISguy

Hey guys, I just want to say I'm very pleased with the H9s. Although they are not anything like my JH16s; they are very nice to listen to. It's true they are a bit bass heavy, but to me it's not that bad and most of the time I wouldn't change it if I could. The rest of the frequencies are nicely...- pilotISguy
