The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Some of the original guys who own the 1z, have you thought about or gone through battery replacement and if so do you have a guide? Mine seems to be dropping charge quickly these days :(- OG10

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Thank you guys for making me lean towards the B&O EX - crikey what a cracking pair of ear buds. I have been enjoying using them during night time, day time whenever I am far away from my main rig. The bass is rather surprising for a single unit. The oxygen / anthracite looks gorgeous. The...- OG10

Grado Fan Club!
I need a pair of no amplifier needed headphones to watch stuff on my ipad while the wife sleeps, is the sr325x much better for this purpose than a 80x? I have a hd800 and LCDX as mains so it won’t be competing for time with them.- OG10

New Amp from HeadAmp - GS-X Mini
I wouldn't buy one, but deffo loan one off a friend. I will give you an example of a track that really stood out for me. Falling - Haim this song has this low rumble and panning of percussion at the start, on the THX 789 this sounded void of any excitement or dynamics. On the GSX Mini it comes...- OG10

LCD-X and XC Update
My word.. The GSX Mini has really changed how these headphones sound. I had initially thought there wasn't much difference on them as there was with the HD800 coming from the 789. However that was an issue to do with the music I was throwing at it, I just threw some rather dynamic music and it...- OG10

Campfire - Solaris
There are some questions on a comparison of the IER Z1R and The Solaris, so here is my view. I am keeping both but some guidance if you were to decide one over the other:- 1. The Solaris is a lot more balanced in it's sound. I can listen to a broader range of music on the Solaris OG than I can...- OG10

The Miter case is perfect! One tip, the headphone bags by Campfire Audio are a great fit for the Z1R to stop the metal banging against eachother in your dap storage boxes.- OG10

Mine arrived today :D No without some drama from Fedex obviously.. But man i'll summarise my experience thus far below. As a side note if there are an UK Head-fi people I managed to get this without any excess import charges which was an amazing bonus! So my comparisons will be against the...- OG10

SONY IER-Z1R
Definitely Solaris, since the cello frequencies are not forward on the z1r, listening Elgar (Jaqueline Dupre) the dynamics of that set are just lost on the z1r. However it’s the first time I’ve felt the pop of the cannons in 1812 telarc cd :) however that wasn’t a classical instrument lol (Dont...- OG10

SONY IER-Z1R
Thanks for the idea gents, this should be arriving on Monday. Shall keep it in here from then :) I am happy with the Ref 8 cable now. I just need to find some memory wire to make sure it stays on my ears. This is the Miter Case - looks quite sturdy- OG10

How are you folks storing the earphones? The case seems a bit too small.. I have ordered one of those larger Miter cases but was wondering if you could show me how you store it? Not keen on disconnecting the MMCX every time due to the horror stories posted elsewhere.- OG10

SONY IER-Z1R
Yeah that small margin is usually why I never switched stock cables on other IEMs. This is a very obvious difference thus my shock. I.e. the presentation completely changed. Perhaps on factor could be that the reference 8s are well used now and the Z1Rs cables are brand new. I am very happy...- OG10

SONY IER-Z1R
Ok.. So I have made a rather startling discovery. I had a thought.. what if I try some of my other cables on this.. I haven't really found much luck in getting significant sound improvements from prior experiments with other IEMs, so through my trials and errors I have a few spare MMCX /...- OG10

SONY IER-Z1R
I'll post a more detailed impression in the Solaris thread, but for now the OG Solaris do sound a lot more balanced as an IEM, in that their representation of music covers a lot more of the sound spectrum in a very clear way. Thus far on the Z1R the mids and treble are a lot more recessed, but...- OG10

Mytek Brooklyn Thread
After dismissing the Headphone section since my purchase of the Brooklyn Bridge some time ago.. I am now discovering how good it actually is. I stopped using the BB due to the harsh sound it have on my HD800, but recently obtained a LCDX 2021, my word it is a fantastic Headphone Amplifier. I...- OG10
