FIRST IMPRESSIONS: NEW Nuforce uDAC-2 with 24/96 - USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
Why would lowering the volume reduce the output bit depth? I'm using Win 7. I guess XP does something to the output signal beyond simple attenuation? In Win 7 I selected NuForce SPDF output as default to get the uDac to produce the sound, I also selected all bit depth option in the properties...- avsBuddy

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: NEW Nuforce uDAC-2 with 24/96 - USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
Hi, I just bought uDAC2 as despite some negative reviews based on measurements, people seem to like it. I decided to give it a try. I got the red version, I love the form factor, fit and finish and the fact that there is no need for a separate power supply. I like the sound, but I do notice...- avsBuddy

New Woo Audio Flagship amp !
I don't see Jack being able to sell a lot of amps at the $8k price point. This is entirely different level of game. There is no support infrastructure, no explicit multi-year warranty, no dealer network and frankly, in my experience, the workmanship is not at the ultra high end level. Having...- avsBuddy

Gee, I leave for 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS, and all of my WA2 brothers change their amps on me! Complex, Skylab - what's going ooooooooooooooon! :) Congratulation guys! As a WA2 owner I would be very curious in your guys comparative impression of your new toys! Thanks in advance :) (My wallet will...- avsBuddy

Clayton, Why do you have both WA22 and WA2, are there certain aspects of each that you like?- avsBuddy

WA22 internal pictures?
Most importantly though, report back if you hear any improvement after disconnecting TRS jack. It would be interesting to see if separate ground yields in audible difference not just in theory but in practice.- avsBuddy

The pre-out option for WA22 is not official one, and Jack only would do it if you ask him really, really nicely. For whatever reason neither WA6 or WA22 are designed with pre-out in mind. In my case Jack hinted that WA2 will perform better as a pre-amp than WA22.- avsBuddy

I don't think WA5 has pre-amp out, it has speaker out with about 15Watts/channel which will only work in small rooms with efficient speakers. I was actually inquiring about going with WA22 and adding pre-amp functionality, but Jack steered me toward going with WA2 as a better option. Someone...- avsBuddy

WA2 works great with my Senn HD600. Very musical, detailed, non fatiguing. I only have build in head amps to compare to, but my Senn never sounded so good before.- avsBuddy

Sorry to hear you also have a scratch on you WA2 - that's not impressive at all, I was hoping for a better quality control on Jack side. Concerning stepped attenuator, switching between the notches on my stepped attenuator is usually noise free. I did hear a slight noise couple of times between...- avsBuddy

Guys, my WA2 hams when connected to the main A/V system as a pre at any volume, but is fine when listening through headphones. When I lift the ground by using a two prong power cable, hum disappears. Is this a typical grounding issue? Is there any harm in running WA2 without ground? I...- avsBuddy

just got WOO AUDIO 2 today, PLEASE HELP....
What you are describing is not something that a simple headphone amp can address. The sound stage of the headphones is in principle different from the one you hear from speakers. This is not only because you have headphones setup where it's two "speakers" positioned squarely against your years...- avsBuddy

The Woo Audio 2
Now that you explained it, I see the leads to transformer and chocks. That makes sense - mystery solved. Is it me or did Jack cleaned up the internal layout of the WA2. Kind of looks empty, needs to have more tasty stuff emm, stuffed in there. :) Thanks guys.- avsBuddy

WOO Audio 3+ experience
I had the exact same dilemma when I was deciding on what Woo was right for me. I use Senn HD600 as my main cans, wanted Denon closed cup headphones for times when I don't want to disturb others and liked the preamp option. In the end there is no clear choice. I went with WA2. Jack told me that...- avsBuddy

Will Woo Audiuo WA2 handle AKG 701?
WA2 amp requires high impedance cans from my research, that's the story and there is no way around it. What' the impedance of the 701 headphones? I'm anxiously waiting to receive my WA2 so I can finally power my Senn HD600 properly. Other than Senn, with WA2 I will be limited to Beyerdynamic...- avsBuddy

WA3 vs WA6
Thanks for the pix Skeptic, just as Jack told me in a somewhat cryptic way, stock socket pins are also gold plated. So I decided to go with the ceramic sockets in lieu of the Teflon upgrade and ordered WA2. I will report back when I get it - with pictures of course! Jack estimates 4 weeks build...- avsBuddy
