Meizu M6SL
My Meizu 8GB M6 SL supports album art and has done since I first bought it 2.5 years ago; a reason that I bought it other than the discussed sound quality that rivals the majority of other players (especially for the price). You have to make sure that your music ID3 tag that is assigned to the...- QSilver

a new budget IEM: Maximo iM-390
I have had 3 pairs of iM-390's and of those pairs one was the original version. I've had to RMA once on the new version for a loose wire that connects to one of the buds which cut out audio (this was the pair that I used the most, almost daily for a year). Otherwise they have all been performing...- QSilver

Rate The Last Movie You Watched
Iron Man 7.0/10 - I thought it was too short and not nearly enough action compared to Transformers as someone else here mentioned. Left me with a bit of an empty feeling at the end, like that was all?? A great one for short attention span viewers. Drillbit Taylor 4.0/10 - A very average...- QSilver

a new budget IEM: Maximo iM-390
Received the upgrade pair for $12 shipped today. I definitely enjoy the sound of these more than the originals. I don't feel like they lost any of the bass, if anything it is tighter. This newer version feels more open, these also need about 15-20% less volume compared to the original design...- QSilver

a new budget IEM: Maximo iM-390
I just received my iM-390's from Amazon two days ago and they were the old version unfortunately so they still have some old stock around, just a heads up. I like this old version but I really want to try the new version now. After many hours of listening I can see that the mids could be...- QSilver

IC: Sony MDR-R10, damaged.
The sleeping in the ear cup and then taking a piss in it and all the talk about toxic mold leads me to think aaaaappriillllllll ... The closeup shot of the cable is the dead giveaway of photochopping to me because of all the blur on the strands (just didn't spend enough time on the cable in...- QSilver

For the skeptics, which tweaks have you found to actually work?
Very comprehensive list there, and for the items that I have tried that come out of your list I would have to agree on everything you have said. Quote: Originally Posted by tortie Same here Here are my findings based on my different personal experiences with my headphone gear &...- QSilver

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
Headphones I've owned long enough to compare here. The first four reviews in the list were all based on listening via my Pimeta w/OPA637's. Pictures of most of my audio setup are here. There is no real clear winner here at this point because they each have their own strengths and weaknesses...- QSilver

My Philips HP890's hanging on their included stand. Headphone stands are a must IMHO. Even better these come with one in the box.- QSilver

emu 0404 install
A newer version of the Foobar foo_output_asio(dll).dll file version .44b from 01/18/05 is in the link below. This one has normal, SSE, SSE2 and SSE3 versions: http://www3.cypress.ne.jp/otachan/ Never had a problem with Foobar being a resource hog either.- QSilver

Custom 0404 cable if anyone's interested...
Yea I was seriously considering building a few to sell as well. I ordered a couple 9 pin dsub and the 9 pin connectors to go along with them and StarQuad from Westlake-Electronics for cheap, just came today.- QSilver

Custom 0404 cable if anyone's interested...
Here's the 0404 db9 -> RCA replacement breakout cable that terrymx made for me. 5.5' of Canare StarQuad cable covered with TechFlex, Canare RCA's, one Canare 1/8 inline input on a 5' run. Very nice quality and affordable.- QSilver

The EMU 0404 isn't likely BETTER than the Terratec EWX 24/96, right?
The pinout on the db9 connector of the 0404's breakout cable is not difficult. There is a post about how to make your own breakout cable. Here's a 0404 db9 -> RCA breakout cable that terrymx made for me. 5.5' of Canare StarQuad cable covered with TechFlex, Canare RCA's, one Canare 1/8 inline...- QSilver

Custom 0404 cable if anyone's interested...
Yep good point. I was just talking to Magsy about this topic and he pointed out that this right angle hood might come in contact with the frame of the case next to the PCI slots and that would not be good. I was thinking someone could start a nice "group buy" of a batch of some of their custom...- QSilver

Custom 0404 cable if anyone's interested...
Do you guys think a right angle d-sub hood (picture below) would work in this Custom 0404 db9->RCA cable project. My plan is to use StarQuad or similar type cable with it. I wasn't sure if the exit on the right angle hood had enough space to accomodate the cable compared to a straight-through...- QSilver

does Sony make good $150 cans?...
I have a feeling if his friend is limiting himself to a $150 budget and seems to be only interested in purchasing the Sony brand at this time that he hasn't had trial with many other substantial headphones.- QSilver
