Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Haven't posted in a while now nor been on head-fi due to a lack of time to commit, but just did this today and thought the thread might be interested. Turns out that it's pretty easy to remove the plastic shell, just prise it out with a swiss army knife or something. Then with some care...- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
He certainly DOES take a while, problem was reported before Febuary.. but thankfully he's pulled through and made good on his word; I just received an Arrow 4G in the mail with a sent date of 010412(DDMMYY). Not quite what I wanted since I think from reviews I'd prefer the 3G to the 4G, but I'm...- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
Quote: Mm if it were a gradual wearing down that'd be fine, but to go from a few weeks/one month per charge to two hours per charge in the span of a week looks like an abnormal problem to me.. last I remembered lithium ion batteries had lives longer than a few months. I emailed them...- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
Quote: I think you misunderstand, I love everything about my Arrow but if the battery suddenly fails on me after a few months of using it and I am promised a new amp under warranty, it would be good if he were to make good on that promise. He could have offered to send a battery for me to...- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
Oh? I have never known that. But anyway, the problem has been resolved. I dropped Rob a mail and he offered to send me a new amp, requesting that I send the old one back after it has been received. Excellent customer service here, I am extremely pleased (:- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
So if I deplete the charge before charging the battery, and do that six to seven times, the battery life will suddenly shrink by 90% for no fathomable reason? That does not seem likely..- Nightslayer

Headstage Arrow Battery Problems?
I've had the Arrow for quite a few months now and love the amp, fantastic sound quality and stellar battery life.. till now. Now it seems to die out after five hours of playback at max, whereas it used to last me for weeks or even months on end per charge. Anyone else experiencing similar problems?- Nightslayer

Grado modders go Magnum
Does anyone know how the O2 compares to the M3? I was planning on building one but those plans have been postponed due to the fact that the person who agreed to teach me to read schematics has found his hands full with marriage.. haha- Nightslayer

Grado modders go Magnum
Quote: I think they smash the LCD-2, I don't remember being very impressed by the LCD-2s when I demoed them and much prefer my Magnums even though my source is far inferior (Fiio E10 VS Beyer A1). The LCD-3 on another hand.. whole different beast. I was also very impressed by the HD800...- Nightslayer

Symphones Magnum upgrade for Grado SR325 and Alessandro MS2
Quote: You pay 280 for shipping in the same continent, they make you wait a week (and days longer than Xpresspost), then 'lose' your package and make you collect it yourself, and you get no compensation of any sort? And here we thought private couriers were more reliable.. Anyway...- Nightslayer

Grado modders go Magnum
Quote: Or perhaps he could order a new set of drivers+enclosures for $240 and use them with the wooden slip-ons instead, if money were easier to come by. Quote: Furthermore, I doubt the source would affect a comparison since all of the headphones are being driven by the same...- Nightslayer

Grado modders go Magnum
Quote: I think no one really answered your questions so I shall deign to do so. The method most people go for is neither method A nor method B, we get a one-piece wooden cup (a la RS1/MSPro) and take the bare driver (something akin to your method A?) and put it in the wooden cup. There...- Nightslayer

Symphones Magnum upgrade for Grado SR325 and Alessandro MS2
If you pay $280 for shipping they SHOULD have some sort of guarantee as to time, right? Also, the black-white driver thing is simply an issue of mesh (the one covering the driver holes). If I'm not wrong the mesh on my drivers are black, but the plastic under is grey. If the mesh he used on the...- Nightslayer

Quote: Well if you were buying something would you trust everything the salesman told you? Also, I'd suggest getting the Grado cables. You mean the gardenhose ones, yes? If you can stand the weight/length, I think those would be your best option.- Nightslayer

Your goal: Do you have one, and have you reached it?
The good thing about the headphone hobby is that technology doesn't quite render past headphones obsolete, the Grado being a good example. Perhaps 10 or 20 years into the future our headphones will still perform as well as they do now, given proper care, and we may still be satisfied with the...- Nightslayer

What is your Money-Spent to Post-Count ratio on Head-fi?
