it always comes down to personal taste, but I had 2 Cowon players which were fine at the time, and playing the same flac tracks and using the same headphones, my opinion is that the DX50 produces a far better sound.

Shure 215s and Fiio RC-Se1 cable hits the spot for me. Mainly playing Rock and Metal. No amp [yet????].

Does your amp have a coax socket? If so your DX50 will arrive with a coax cable, and I find it produces great sound from this source to my amp and speakers.
