The Astell & Kern AK120
You don't need to open the hex file... with the AK120 connected, just drag & drop the hex file to the root folder of your unit. Once done, disconnect the unit & it will restart & update the firmware- oscar777

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"
Pretty sure it's the Roxanne If you read the last few pages in this thread, you'll see that some people still have not received their Roxanne orders yet.. So if there's a new JH CIEM on the horizon, there'll be hell to pay for JH- oscar777

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
I'd advise you to get familiar with the stock tubes first.. then read the comments/reviews from other members re the different tubes' sound signatures and see if there's anything that suits your preference/taste 6FD7 & 6EW7 are recommended by many members here..- oscar777

Don't use the iriver software.. I basically just drag & drop my iTunes music files to the SD cards or AK120 directly, then scan the library.. tags & artworks all show up fine- oscar777

Hi, I found this tutorial very helpful http://www.torrentech.org/index.php?act=Help&CODE=01&HID=68 For album art in AK, just make sure the max size is 500x500 in .jpeg. Remember to add the album art before you execute your format conversion.- oscar777

That's weird.. AFAIK, even though you can add limited tags to WAV files, it's usually software specific as the tags do not get written into the files themselves. hence only certain players can read that info. Lee, is it just the X5 that can somehow read the tags or have u experienced that...- oscar777

I don't think you can add tags to WAV files.. However, since WAV files are already lossless, just convert them to other formats (FLAC, ALAC, etc) using software like XLD then add/edit tags- oscar777

No, you can't get DSD from regular CD's. Either from SACD or purchase from hi-rez music web stores such as this one: http://audiogate.bluecoastrecords.com/- oscar777

Agree with ALRAINBOW... that review is so so wrong. The only thing it's spot on is that the iRiver software sucks which is why everybody recommends against using it. Otherwise AK120 does album, genre, artist, etc. If you go to the dedicated AK120 thread, you can find a lot of useful...- oscar777
