Really only want to spend $500 but can't find the ATH-W1000 for less. It is one of my contenders. I have no idea what they sound like or any AT can for that matter. RS-1's? What would you buy and why?

Got the itch to spend money on some new cans. Luv my DT770's. My HD650's are not getting any playing time. Wes Phillips keeps raving about the 701/702's and Headroom seems to think very highly of the Denon AH-D2000. These are at similar price points. Help a brother out and tell me which to buy.
