I recently acquired a $16 Memorex MD6447, the Panny SL-SX500 and the iRiver SlimX. So far the iRiver sounds the best. I was wondering what else is out there NON VINTAGE, ie NEW in production PCDP's that has good or GREAT sound quality. Sony's, Panny's?

bump, plz. I also need to know of good pcdp's costing up to $150, $200 MAXXXXX.

*edit* ok, I think I might just go with a portable dvd player. How's this as a pcdp substitute?

Panasonic SL-CT579V or Sony D-NE920. I have the former - excellent.

Personally I wouldn't get a DVD player for portable use. The screen makes it heavier and the battery life is much worse then a pcdp.

Check out some of the new Sony players, they seem to be getting good reviews around here.
