J&R has the Porta-Pro 2's for 19.99 plus shipping or the Porta -Pro's for $39.99 with free shipping. I had the 2's once and plugged into a receiver head phone jack they sounded terrible, wooley and bassey, some of the worst sound I ever heard. Took them back to CC. Now that I know what I know about amps, iPods and cans, what do they really sound like and is $25 shipped a deal or are the original Pro's for $40 the deal?

warm, wooly, bassy.... thats kind of the way they sound. Amplification helps, but thats still their characteristic sound.

Ugh! My initial impressions must have been correct and maybe that is why they are $20. I assume the original Porta-Pro's sound different and better.
