Confused about subwoofer outputs.
So my setup is: Little Dot Dac -> XLR/TRS balanced -> KRK Rokit 5 I want to get a sub. What should I be looking at? Ideally I would want to get it used, but most of my local listings only have speaker level outputs. Ideally the simplest setup for me would be: Dac -> balanced XLR or...- Tofujr

Need help deciding on new IEM's / Closed headphones but ive kinda given up on the closed headphones lol
I wasn't recommending my He-400s. I was just saying that, in my opinion, as a generalization, headphones are better in terms of sound quality than IEMs given similar price points.- Tofujr

Need help deciding on new IEM's / Closed headphones but ive kinda given up on the closed headphones lol
I believe that it is far easier for great sound to come out of headphones than IEM, relative to the price. My Hifiman HE-400 ($399) sounds soooo much better than my IEMs Shure SE535 and Westone 4R ($499 each). Out of those three IEMs however I feel that the SE535 and 4R sound...- Tofujr

V-Moda M80 vs LP2
I've heard the LP2 since my friend owns a pair. Ionno, I didn't really like it. It felt very plain and boring. The bass was extended and had a lot of quantity but not QUALITY. There was no punch or crispness to the bass.- Tofujr

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
I just got my HE400s last week, about ~120 hours use right now. I love them. I don't have much to compare it to except primarily IEMS, specifically the Shure SE535 and Westone 4. This is what the Hifimans sound like to me. This is through a Little Dot Dac1 via USB into a Little Dot MKIII...- Tofujr

In 2012, how "bad" are default laptop sound cards?
Asus N56 ($1200, decent laptop, bought 2012; Realtek) headphone out vs my Little Dot MKIII amp + Little Dot Dac_1 = little difference. Bass is tightened with more punch but it is nothing night and day. Nothing that would warrant me to say that laptop onboard audio sucks. Laptop sound is better...- Tofujr

SPDIF vs USB into DAC
I have an Asus N56 laptop with no dedicated sound card, I believe. It supports a SPDIF output labelled in windows as Realtek Digital Output. This is running to a Little Dot Dac_1. I can't tell a difference between 16bit/44.1k USB out and 24bit/44.1k SPDIF/Toslink out (The dac doesn't...- Tofujr

How hard are the DT880 250 ohms to drive anyway? Puzzling things I've noticed as an owner
It's not about volume, it's about losing dynamics and extension when there's not enough power.- Tofujr

Schiit Modi USB DAC
I've heard things about the Modi being at a disadvantage simply because it is USB powered. Someone in another thread said that it would probably sound a lot better from a usb hub with dedicated power. All placebo or...?- Tofujr

Easy Removal/Installation of Shure Olive Tips from Shure Earpieces
I had that problem too when I first got them, but it has not been a problem since like a month after getting them due to sweat and whatnot. But yeah, I was pretty pissed when I first got them.- Tofujr

iPhone 5 amp for Sennheiser HD650?
I'm not sure what you should buy but I have an iPhone 5 too and I just wanted to say that it's pretty stupid that they changed their line out. Can't use my LOD anymore. Stupid Apple and changing things for the sake of changing things and screwing everything up. /end rant- Tofujr

Klipsch Image X10 for $94 (usually $350)!!
MUST. BUY. NOW. I mean, they're bad for $300+ earphones, but for $89.99? That's awesome! However, I don't know much about amazon, I've always thought that if it's too good to be true it's probably either fake or defective. Why are these so cheap?- Tofujr

Best IEM for heavy metal under 500 dollars?
I listen to death metal mainly and I fell in love with the Westone 4, after owning Shure SE535. Bass - I'm not a bass head but the Westone 4 has enough to greatly satisfy me without it being overpowering or fatiguing. Mids - There is less mids than the Shures but I really hated the...- Tofujr
