If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I like the cable, it is well made with quality components and sounds good. The angled MMCX connector fits well and has the ety index notch - a solid connection. Their angled MMCX connector is a little longer than...- jdmoorman

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
I have migrated to the SR15 from the AK100 (stolen) and the AK120 (lost). With those two models, there was a System folder in the internal storage that contained the scan database named AKxxxSyncDB.db3, which was a SQLlite database. I could connect to it with SQLliteStudio and copy/past the...- jdmoorman

Has anyone found a good source for 2.5mm balanced cable for the new ety's (works with AK DAPs)? I have found LunaShops in HK (with 1 month+ shipping time to the US), but little else.- jdmoorman

The problem I've had with those adapters is that they're too big and sharp corners that dig into my ears. So, I filed them down to a smoother more rounded shape and now they work great. See my pictures here: ...- jdmoorman

My experience has been that the sharp corners dig into your ears. I filled mine down to a more rounded shape that blends better with the cable and the iem cylinder. I say that there is a sonic influence from the adapter, but then it can't really be isolated from any influence the different...- jdmoorman

The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP
Disconnected Now Playing Screen i had been running listridV2 with no problems. I flashed iriver 2.0.1 to evaluate any sound differences. After a short test with my standard test files, I decided I preferred listridV2. I re-flashed listridV2, but I then experienced some occasions where...- jdmoorman

I've used this adapter (S vesion) with the Moon Audio iem Silver Dragon cables. 1st, The adapter had to be filed down quite a bit so that the sharp corners and edges did not poke my ear (my etys insert very deep). 2nd, The iem Silver Dragon cables that I mated with the adapters were...- jdmoorman

I recently tested the 4.Ai vs. my ety4, expecting them to be similar but with more warmth and bass, but was surprised at how different they were from the etys. They are nothing alike; a totally different sound. The 4.Ai does not have the articulate crisp detail of the ety. They are warmer...- jdmoorman

Woo Audio Amp Owner Unite
I have both the WA6 and the CSP2; they are both very very good. When I needed to get an additional amp a couple of years ago, I got another CSP2. To me, the WA6 sounded dry and sterile, compared to the CSP2; the CSP2 had a 'magic liveliness' that was missing in the WA6. The difference was...- jdmoorman

Is there a 5.1 to stereo decoder to take digital TV/DVD into my 2 channel DAC->Headphone amp?
I'm looking for a way to take the digital audio out from my TV or DTV or DVD/Bluray and route it through my DAC - headphone system. The problem is that most of the TV/DTV/DVD/Bluray content is coded 5.1/surround/dolby digital and not 2 channel stereo, so either nothing or garbage comes through...- jdmoorman

ALO The Continental
My travel rig is the Continental V2 with iPod Classic and ER4s. It is a wonderful combination. The low gain switch on the V2 should resolve most, if not all, iem issues. With the ER4s (impedance: 100 ohms, sensitivity: 100dB) I use the low gain setting at about 50% volume and the high gain...- jdmoorman
