I was talking about Penon website. Problem for me when buying from Aliexpress is that if an item costs more than 150 eu, then they deduct VAT from final price and leave it for you to declare and pay, and in my country for items that cost more than 150 eu VAT declaration cost additional 30 eu, so VAT + VAT declaration charges. So for me it is best to buy more expensive items from those shops where VAT is included in the final price with no need for me to declare it.

But is it with VAT included? I live in Europe, VAT is additional 21% for me.

A friend of mine from Turkey bought a set from the Penon Aliexpress platform, the vat was included.
As for your condition, buying from the Penon site (https://penonaudio.com/yanyin-canon.html), it's better to contact them directly...

Well in the EU there is a different TAX policy, Aliexpress treats each region differently. Yep gave Penon a direct message, anyway Hifigo also has a not bad price.

I’m weak. Ordered from Penon today.
Sorry for your wallet...

On the other hand, Canon can save you thousands of dollars in unnecessary future purchases.
You'll just be buying Canons and configuring them with a different tuning :L3000:
I'm thinking to buy my 3rd one right now.

Upping the stakes to a pair of Rosemary?

I'd +1 one @AnalogandDigital 's query.
Price difference alone, The latter should have the upper hand on anything.
At least by sound field dimension and scale of imaging, the Rosemary should be better...

So it's more a value for money thing ?
It could be.
It should possess better parameters.
If not on the tuning, at least by sound field dimension and scale of imaging...

As you say it should for sure being somewhere an improved sound 3 times the cost
At least if you asked me
Even 30 % improvement overall will suffice.
Law of diminishing returns perhaps.
And we come back to the value for money aspect, if it's 3 x the escalation but a difficult to justify 10% improvement.
then it's not worth coughing out that amount...

Oh no:

Penon re: Canon
I am sorry due to pandemic outbreak here ,we are requested to stay at home for 7 days, all the business have been closed, we can only ship out your parcel after 7 days.
Obviously nothing they have control over, just a shame.

I was able to give the Hekili a listen while setting up my classroom today, I am getting a picture of what it is like. Very early impressions:
  • Timbre is fine
  • Bass is good but lacks a little of the edge/impact of the Serial.
  • Treble is awesome. For me it's the last thing I care about after mids and bass, but when it's also done well, it really does stand out. Not at all fatiguing, but so detailed and well-extended.
  • Very much an all-rounder, possibly even more so than Serial.
It may not be knocking my socks off, but it's at the very least pleasant, and maybe more than that with time and tip rolling.

As you say and doesn't need to be 3 x ...
But at least an 'improved' sound as we would expect
