What was the letdown for you on the H50?
Just profoundly mediocre. For all the spiel of it finally being a worth successor to the H40, I would have happily taken the H40 over it — not because I'm crazy about the H40 by any stretch. I'm a big sub-bass fan too, but it just didn't seem well implemented.

The sub-bass it prioritized so much needed more texture, mids were disappointing for their timbre and recession, and percussion would come in overly sharply in the mix... at odds with the otherwise laid-back tuning. Very hard to recommend for the price, thought they look lovely enough.

Edit: to soften the blow of this description, it’s fair to say I don’t have them with me. Anything from memory is iffy, and my disappointment at the time relative to what they cost may have tainted this one. I did not care for their tuning despite usually loving other sets tuned for sub-bass, is the take away.

Doesn't sound like any of the Canon tunings I tried, so no worries there :L3000:
Canon is very natural sounding, with great timbre.

Unfortunately, yes.

It's only teasing while you don't have Canon - easily fixable :L3000:
I'm pretty tempted tbh. Might need to flip my Aladdin first to raise some funds
