How does the Canon 2 compare with the newly released Thieaudio Hype 4? I'm wondering if I should go ahead and get the Canon or wait a couple of months until the Hype 4 is available. I'm gonna use them for listening to rock, metal, rap and will use them for gaming as well.

I made my choice in favor of OG Canon. There were Yanyan Moonlight and Canon 2. Moonlight doesn't have the low-frequency response that Canon does. Canon 2 does not have the same detail and technicality that OG Canon has and they are more for calm listening, although you can also listen to metal and rock in them.. I listen to my Canon on the 000 setting and can always carefully adjust the sound setting at the right moment. I'll see what Yanyin will be released in the future.
I'm also interested in Hype 4 and maybe their price will be adjusted somehow at the sale. I hope so.

If your a fan of the original Canons. I would take a good look at the Tansio Mirai TMSR-X It is an upgrade on the Canon sound signature.
