Neutron MP claims to offer it, but...it doesn't
Neutron is absolutely bit perfect on supported devices, just like UAPP. I'm not sure where you heard this. To achieve bit perfect, just toggle off all processing (EQ, Crossfeed, DSP) and ensure the pre amp Gain is at 0.0db and 'follow source frequency' is selected.

Both software programs will pad 16 bit to either 24 or 32 bit streams however. This doesn't affect bit perfect status.

Hello, trying to apply the EQ settings from Oratory 1990. Purchased the toneboosters plug-in, but have a question about the filter type as an EQ noob.

It calls for a peak filter, which I don’t see as an option. Is that the same as notch+gain?

Also why are there multiple versions like high shelf and high shelf 2? What are the differences? Thanks for any input!

Explanation of DoP.
https://www.dcsltd.co.uk/support/what-is-dop-dsd-over-pcm/

In short, the result data in DoP is DSD stream. The DAC at the other end knows that the data is not PCM but DSD stream and thus will perform DSD decode to analog.
LG Music App/UAPP performs the DSD decoding into PCM and thus the result data is sampled analog signals. The DA converter at the end just needs to take this PCM to perform simple D-A conversion.

The quality of the analog sound depends on the quality of the DSD decoding. DoP relies on external decoder.
Thanks a lot for the helpful response ac67 - much appreciated in better understanding DoP.

I’m still not clear on the possible issue with the V50 itself, however. When the UAPP documentation says that the V50 does not feature DoP, does that mean that it never featured DoP, or is something that has only recently arisen because of the way Android 10 has been implemented?

All views and info on the DoP functionality (or lack thereof) on the V50 would be much appreciated.

Using chrod 2go streamer via wifi (upnp)
Uapp doesn't allow me to push Tidal to the 2go via upnp, it recognized the renderer, but doesn't allow me to push music to it or EQ prior to push.
It does let me view what's on the SD card but I want to push Tidal to it!
Please help, maybe I'm doing something wrong

Using the iBasso DX160 with UAPP: Do you need to buy the extra add-on for (software?) MQA unfolding for both Tidal Masters and your own MQA albums stored locally? The "buy MQA add-on" pops up on every song. Maybe it is just a setting within UAPP, because the DX160 is capable of hardware MQA unfoulding?

My DAC only accepts 16 bit / 44.1 or 48 khz. So bit-perfect can't work in UAPP.

When I play a song UAPP says "USB DAC: 48 khz, FLAC: 44.1 khz 16 bit. Anyway to force 44.1 khz in UAPP?

EDIT: DAC is ES100, not recognized as 44.1 khz with USB connection
Other DACs are recognized correctly.

Yes, if you dont have the add-on MQA will play in 44.1 khz. If you use the Tidal App directly DX160 should unfold MQA (says 176 khz on mine on the top).

Thanks, still find it strange this is needed on a MQA capable DAP, would like to understand the reasoning behind this

How does the MQA add-on even work.

If MQA certification requires to make a special sound profile for a device?

The company behind mqa has a target sound. And they make sure a certified device will playback as they intended.
