Perhaps in future since it doesn't give any quality benefit to other apps (unless perhaps sending MQA decoded audio). The first thing I would support is Chromecast which is something different than UPnP. Too bad they just stopped manufacturing the Chromecast audio this week.
Hi, I am using the Cast option to cast to Chromecast Audio, it hears good but the audio often freezes so I have to restart my smartphone to cast
How come it only sees Chromecast and not other devices with Integrated cast?

Hi - I deleted my post at the end of last month as it was too long and out of context with the forum - it naturally did not get any response, so I am trying again for some help please: -

1. My UAPP installation, fully paid for, is installed on my Android Media Player, which outputs to my ext USB DAC. It has been updated to the latest version but I cannot find where the in-app purchases are found. For example I would like to buy the Parametric EQ facility from Tonebusters and maybe Morphit too. I know I have to turn off Bitperfect for these to work but do I have to turn off Bitperfect first in order to buy it? I just do not know how to purchase.

2. I got some great advice on this forum earlier in the year and it was suggested that if I wanted to up the SQ, I ought to consider investing on a USB reclock/regen card. Well I've had a very long conversation with Martin at Vortexbox here in the UK during which I purchased their ISOREGEN. I am so looking forward to hearing the SQ effect of this - thank you for suggesting it. It will arrive later this week. Does anyone have any hands on experience with it? I cannot afford the LPS-1.2 right now so it will be powered by a cheaper PSU. Would welcome any thoughts please.

3. Bought myself a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones to replace my older Nokia headphones - again has anyone got some experience with these?

Thanks in anticipation

To buy the parametric EQ, you just have to deactivate the perfect bit, as you say, access the parametric EQ configuration, and try to activate it. Then it should give you the option to try it for a few minutes, or to buy it.

Brilliant just had a play and it is exactly as you say - thank you.

If I buy through the app on one device, say my tablet (because it is easier to do) will they be reflected on my Media Player's installation too?

It does. I have the PEQ in all my devices, and I love it.

Some of the most widely used headphones. Very popular.....well, the peak was 5-6 years ago i think. Warm sound, some would consider them bass heavy with metallic flavour to it (there is peak at 8-10khz and then quickly roll off). Good for loud listening, can take a lot of volume. Good all-rounder overall. EQ in UAPP is good for them.

Thank you once more - that is really good to hear. Certainly they're the best headphones I've ever tried.

I have a much bigger issue now though and need to know rather quickly what it is down to. I bought an ISO REGEN and earlier today I connected it up but it doesn't appear to be working. When playing DSD files, my DAC reports either 44.1khz or 48khz depending on the file whilst UAPP reports the correct meta data. I hear the file playing ok but certainly not the quality I'm used to. But worse is when I try to play a PCM (Flac) file of any frequency, again my DAC shows 44.1/48khz, UAPP shows the correct meta data but all I get is silience.

Take out the ISO REGEN and all is well again. I am guessing the ISO REGEN isn't playing ball with my DAC. But is it because of a setting in UAPP?

I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts as I will be sending the ISO REGEN back, probably next week if I cannot sort this.

Thank you

Yes thank you - I have just this minute sent an email to that email address, explaining my full setup and issue. Tomorrow I will try and play my music using my Streamer's own software to see if it works with that. Unlike a phone it doesn't have its own internal DAC so I will be able to tell if it's UAPP or something else.

Would welcome in the meantime if anyone has any experience with a REGEN

Cheers

No direct experience of the ISO REGEN, but I did find this well liked post on another forum, any help?

"No problem. I forgot to mention earlier Superdad that my SOTM Sms-200 is powered by S Booster PS. Been listening successfully all morning.
I suppose I’ve got it working by all off then turning DAC on, then Regen and then SOTM. That seems to be how it’s worked. Still a little nervy about it dropping out again which is an extra potential pain because I think it was worth the money for the sound improvement I am hearing. More air , great bass improvement and deeper soundstage seem to be most noticeable improvement. Noting fatiguing or too digital that’s for sure "

Thank you @MarkParity - hmmm yes this might be something to consider. I didn't reboot my Media Player yesterday, I simply exited UAPP and reopened it. I'll set things off in exactly the same way later after a reboot. I've heard back from my vendor/UpTone that it's probably an issue upstream from the ISO REGEN and I should check the USB cable. I'm using an old USB-A to USB-B one. I'll check if I have another to try, although why it works without the ISO REGEN in the chain mystifies me somewhat and makes me think that this isn't the problem.

Mark - you are a true LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I have got it working and it has added a new dimension to my listening experience. First thing I did was to swap the USB cable running from the Streamer to the ISO REGEN it was a known USB 2.0 cable whereas the one I was previously using was a very old one and could be a 1.0 or 1.1 cable. Then I rebooted the Streamer without anything else on and switched off again. Next I turned on the DAC, then the ISO REGEN's PSU followed by the Streamer and voila! Both my DSD and PCM stuff plays nicely. Only issue to sort is the length of the USB cable - it's 5 meters long haha! I really need a 1.5 meter cable so I'll pop over to Amagone or the Bay later. But thank you for posting yesterday - remarkable

I thought I would buy the Morphit plugin to support Davey and Company since I love v6 and it’s a great free upgrade (I already own the Toneboosters PEQ plugin which I absolutely love [see my MDR-Z1R settings] but I thought Morphit might be fun to try).

Initially I was not impressed: very over-processed sound. After some Google searching I found an old forum post that mentioned using 75% on the “Amount” field. So I set the headphone type to my rarely-used-anymore Sony MDR-1A, and the Target to “Generic Harman AE/OE Target curve”; Amount 75% , and Gain 0.0 dB (default); Limiter ON.

Wow! If you have any headphones supported by Morphit, and you’ve tried it but were not satisfied: try 75% for the Amount value. I will say that I think there is some added reverb to the mids (not just some PEQ happening) but I found the MDR-1A sounded awesome with Morphit/75%.

Cheers,
Gus

P.S. Love the Settings > User Interface > Background colour > Coloured. The choices Davey and the team made to pick good contrasts for text, artwork, and interface elements are spot on. Looks great!

Anyone else like Morphit? What settings?
