Are there any -compact- DAPs -- important: like a Fiio M5, NOT full sized like a X7 or anything akin to that -- that are Android based and that ...

1. accept 3rd party software installations, thus of UAPP

2. its custom USB will work and bypass the Android driver

3. will output up to 192kHz & 24-bit over USB?

Thanx!

Anybody here use UAPP with Qobuz?

I just switched from Tidal hi-fi to Qobuz premier as my source.... And it's really Annoying you have to construct your favourites from scratch. Also, the remove option is missing for customisation in qobuz..... I accidentally added a few wrong items to my New favorites lists and now I can't delete them!

Thanks.
I found that if I access Qobuz via its web player, I can delete all the favorites I want. Then I need to access Qobuz through UAPP and it's showing the updated favorites folder.
It is indeed strange that the Qobuz through UAPP has no delete function for the favorites, nor can you create subfolders. I have saved hundreds of favorites, subfolders would be really great. Right now it's a big mess.

I haven't seen any - most of the small DAPs run embedded Linux, rather than Android. If they weren't locked down, you could possibly alter the ALSA config file, to allow data rates above 48-KHz.

I use UAPP to run E1DA 9038s with my phone. The combo works really well, apart from the ever hanging sword that someday the volume will glitch and go to max as that is what E1DA likes to do. So far it has been holding up fine.

To all. Pertaining to this... Is the PowerDAC V2 capable of this too? Simply walking around has jostled the USB cables and caused music to stop for me. Frequently, which is annoying. But I've never heard the max volume white-noise. Wondering if it's a possibility? Anyone can answer, thanx)

@Davy Wentzler

When playing files from the NAS server, the program does not show the built-in covers. Are there any settings so that they are displayed or is it such functionality.

And another question is network access to the NAS server: the VLAN player, for example, has access via the Samba protocol to all disks connected to the NAS. There is a possibility of adding such an option to the UAPP.

Thanks

Had that happen to me twice... Nearly voided my bladder! I think it is due to loose USB cable...

I will answer myself (maybe it will be useful to someone) :)

I reinstalled the program and now Samba works fine.
Why samba?
For me, Samba is much more convenient than UPnP/DLNA. I have about 6 TB of music files on four HDDs connected to the NAS server, all folders are named according to "Artist - Album Year (Format)". Many albums are available in several versions in different quality (CD, Hi-Res, DSD) and are located on different hard drives. The media library will unite them all and it will be difficult to understand where is which option. Therefore, folder navigation is preferable for me.
In addition, when playing files using the SMB protocol, the album cover is displayed (when UPnP, I do not see it).

OT, I know... just, Then don't ever try to move to Roon. Because they are militantly opposed to folder navigation. Hahaha (Dunno about these guys.)

Roon does have a thing called "Focus" that does allow a stack of filter categories to be applied like format and music source location. But they're just making folder like navigation of people's libraries that are -highly- organized -way- harder than actual folder navigation. lol

I finally put a couple days into organizing my library with a paid tag editor called 'Meta'. Best $25 I've ever spent and my library is tag tidy and works nicely on all devices, whether folder structure, or relying on imbedded tags. It was daunting with about 300 gigs of music (mostly CD quality) but I went artist by artist until it was done!

For me, properly tagging prior to actually including it in my library (and library backup don't forget) has become part of a standard workflow and has paid off in spades of enjoyment.

Have you tried the Fiio M6?
