Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

I'm actually using these right now. Mine are black though, they came with the Grado iGi that I replaced with my UEs.

I prefer them to the comply tips; insertion is much easier and I don't need to wait for the expansion of the comply. They don't FEEL as if they're any deeper, but I'm getting a similar seal and the same great bass that I liked with the Comply, sans the weird crackling I didn't like so much.

This tip looks very interesting, it has large bore (when compared to sony one's) and quite long for deep insertion. Does anyone know which tips are these, I pulled this pic from an old post in this thread

I can recommend MEELEC tips that fit their M6 product are also a good match for the TF10's. Both the single and double flange, and in fact work better for me than the Sony Hybrids, as the M6 are a softer silicon and without the "hard" centre core that the Hybrids have. These are the ones:

Also an option that I found on ebay are some no-name triple flanges that work well with the TF10's too :

I just tried the Sony tips, and thought they severely muffled the sound. I think they also require too deep an insertion. The Grado iGi ones I'm using are still far preferable for me.

Is that so? Very interesting. When I bought my TF10, I also got the Hybrid tips along with it due to recommendations here. I thought they were fine for the 9 months I've used them, not that I compared them to anything else. Recently I got my first full size, open headphones which I found very refreshing having been IEM exclusive prior. After using them for a while, I find my once beloved TF10 to be sadfully muffled. It was hard to believe. But because of what you said, perhaps the Hybrid tips have something to do with that? I just ordered the MEElectronic ones phlashbios suggested. I'll see if that changes anything.

I've considered just upgrading the TF10 altogether, but I think anything worthwhile is too expensive right now. I do like them still and want to use them as long as possible.

I would blame the Hybrid tips. I'm not sure why people are suggesting them, other than comfort; they do provide that. Looking into the nozzle, it's pretty clear that the sound ports on the TF10 are being restricted. I put them on, listened for five minutes, and wondered what the hell happened.

I actually switched back to the Comply tips today though. The Grado double-flange sounded nice when I wasn't moving around, but was losing seal too quickly during my commute. I kept pushing them back in my ear, and that was unpleasant.

My TF10vi cable came today; the construction is entirely different than the stock cable. Thinner cable, matte finish. It's actually a lot more manageable, and fits inside the metal case without issue now. The sound quality appears to be about the same; I'd switch back and fourth, but they're just too hard to take off. I don't want to risk breakage. The microphone is actually quite good quality, and seems to have no issue picking up my voice quite clearly even when hanging away from my mouth. The clicker button rests under the cable L/R split away from the mic. It's a strange thing; the button has more travel than I expected when depressed. I think it seems relatively durable, but is very different in construction from other iPhone cable buttons I've used. It is almost as if the switch itself is very present in the transaction, instead of your primary interaction being the plastic or rubber pushing back against your finger.

Well, I guess this is were my journey comes to an end with TF10, they've been great while I moved up the ladder and were my favourite IEM for some time. They offered a good taste of what's out there, I can understand why so many people like them. When I first heard them I was amazed, they were my first balanced armature and I'll never forget the different sound they provided from a dynamic on that initial listen. But after upgrading recently to T-Peos H-100 Hybrid. I honestly have no need for them anymore in my collection. 'hence' their final show here in the thread. They're up for sale. (the sale is not on head-fi)

Good times!

Hi H20,How do they compare to TF10s? i could use a little boost in the mid range region. :)

I certainly consider them an upgrade over TF10.

Less congested, airy, defeat TF10 in clarity, better control of treble. Mid range is a touch lighter has a lot of depth, can sink deep depending on track, different vocal placement is obvious, rather than just hearing the singer centre stage constantly. Vocals will either be left / right / deep / forward bitta both, I know this from using tracks like Burial Archangel which I heard vocals in places they never were with TF10. The imaging and separation is by far superior but the timbre may take some adjusting.

H-100 is simply to advanced technically for the ageing TF10 to compete (IMO) especially being a Hybrid. There's no sub-bass roll off, that's replaced by deep highly detailed bass quality, to many areas, to many areas.

ClieOS was the one who told me he considered it an upgrade and he wasn't joking...not at all.

My TF10 sold on ebay last night...I just don't need them anymore.

Yep, I do think anyone who like TF10 should love H100 more. It has all of TF10's goodness and almost none of its weakness.

The RatShack Auvio tips are similar to the Sony Hybrids just with a large bore opening.  You can have the best of both, too bad they are such a ripoff at $14.99.

Regarding the T-Peos H-100 Hybrid, found it's location on EBay.  There appear to be different models ie. KG, KR, RG, RR.  Can't determine their differences other than color-wise.  Are these models different in any other way?

Literally, the color/number of outer rings are the only differences. Purely aesthetics.

Wow, Thats great, How about its comparision to GR 07? I liked the TF 10 sound as you mentioned, which would suit me better GR07 or H100?
