Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Dec 20, 2011 at 3:20 AM Post #5,176 of 9,690
im on my second set of triple fi's in 3 weeks. the pair i received yesterday seems to have an obvious channel imbalance. it seems that the left ear is weaker than the right. pretty disappointing stuff. the first pair went back with a dramatic difference between the two. the new pair has it, but not as pronounced.

poor form really. bought them for travel and i know they wont be replaced in time for my trip.......

Same for me after several month I got the obvious channel imbalance, first I think that was my ear, after the fitting, the cable, the player, my brain and finally that was the earpiece pfff

Now I'm looking for new IEM, MSTRC, XBA-3 or else that match the sound of the TF10 ...

Does the XBA-3 have a sound signature close to the TF10?

For me it can also start slightly, but when listening for one hour or two the problem is growing and I have a strong balance to scales on my J3. I would say to you exchange it, because after you only think about that and you do not enjoy the music!

This is an insidious problem that got me crazy and because the sound is so good on this IEM

Thats good to know if my 10's ever good bad.  I've heard a few higher end IEM's and none can match my TF10's, I just love the sound signature on them.

You should hear the FX700s . But for the money though the TF10s are very good and are well worth reshelling.

So you're saying that FX700 sound is close to, or better than TF10?

Definitely better in all areas over the TF10. Timbre is crazy good on the FX700. Bass goes deeper, treble extends higher, sound stage is bigger. Mids aren't recessed on the FX700 but are very neutral and detailed. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be without the TF10 though they are great in their own right. Also the FX700 is very fast for a dynamic driver. You do sacrifice isolation though for that stadium sized sound stage .

Are they good for EDM because thats really all I listen to and the TF10's are perfect for that.

Well I listen to techno, trance and house a long with all their sub genres.  Try any Fabric album or some trance from Armin Van Buuren or something like that.  Its hard to find a good IEM or headphone that works good with EDM so if the FX700 are good I'm willing to give them a try.
