well the TA3 also comes with a modular cable and a much more complex faceplate, so I guess that also could be some of the reasons.
Good eye about the MT4, I didn't catch that!
Quoting myself there, but I juste received the MT4, and haven't given them a good listen yet, but I can confirm that they only come with one set of medium T tips (and me having big ol' ear canals, they're way too small for me :/)
Guess I'll have to either order one large set later, or wait to see if the TA3 comes with all the sizes.
I really liked TA1 Max, interested to know how their dual DDs sound. MT3 was a little hot in the treble for me and the Rosefinch looks similar on their graph. Keen to hear feedback.
I have the Rosefinch on order. Even if it's not perfect, $45 for a real planar magnetic, modular cable (only the 3.5mm tip is included,) and their T tips is still one helluva deal. Supposedly end of march, but if they're anything close to the original PR-1, they'll be an instant best in class for the sub-$50 market. They're marketed on the website aggressively on soundstage, which excites me, I'm a sucker for that over almost everything else, and good soundstage can beat bad tuning for me.
I got the xuan'wu and they were interesting, but the biggest take-away for me was that the T-tips are my platonic perfect eartip in basically everything. I ordered 10 more pairs and love them in my KZ's, diokos, everything. The xuan'wu is a fun, interesting sound, but not something I'd recommend unless you're buying them as your third or fourth pair of IEM's and want something that does wild things with the sound. It's like they do so many things wrong, that they circle back around to right and just have a wild vibe, it's like instruments are completely shuffled around.
I got the CS2 for like $1.99 on an aliexpress sale and.... they're worth $5 at most. They would've been good 2 years ago, but not in the insane $10-20 market now.
I also pre-ordered the new MT1 max, which actually has freaking TUNING SWITCHES FOR $12. Even if it sucks, I like that TRN is trying all sorts of crazy things. Here's hoping they just refine it over the next few months, their product catalog has some dinosaurs that need to go.
