Thunderpants!

Actually I go back to the days before the Internet was the Internet (Usenet was the communication medium back then).

Still bugs me when people seem to have the need to make themselves seem more important by dissing others without cause. I have the same issue on Head-Fi from time to time.

I consider myself properly chastened...

Gary is busy engraving the cups & so I have some time on hand to get a suitable amp.

Would one of these amps be able to get the best out of them...

If not, kindly suggest what would work best. Budget $2K
Thanks in advance.

a lot of people really like the Cavalli CTH with the thunderpants..

I would suggest putting part of your budget towards a dac as well. I've heard good things about the gamma 2.

haven't heard any of this though

Anyone have photos of TPs w/ LCD2 pads?

Smeggy rated them highly in group buy thread and as such on the list I put them in as my pad choice.  But I've never seen a photo, just want to make sure they're not too ungainly

I do mean the LCD-2 pads.  From the group buy thread:

Of the pads I've been investigating I can give the following...
Stax. Good isolation, very comfortable, good sound +, decent soundstage, very expensive.
LCD2 rev1 pads. Very good isolation, good comfort, very good sound, good soundstage +, moderately expensive.
LCD2 rev2 pads. visually a little different, sonically about the same to my ears, so as good as the Rev1.

Ok, pads, the Stax pads are still the most comfy of them all which for some is the deciding factor, also, they still sound extremely nice. The Audeze pads are a little bigger but not ridiculously so. The phones look fine with them so no need to worry about looks.

I was wondering if anybody know what cabling smeggy uses in his Thunderpants, or if he has options?  I didn't see anything on his site.  Thanks.
