Too bad the moon itself is not in matching color.
Your purple cable is a nice contrast too and I think will look just as good if not better!I like the grey/blue moon/sky motif. It's a pretty drab looking IEM and I think this cable is a nice aesthetic match for it.

Nice setup!! Curious, how did you get the EA ConX on the Sony M12SB1 ? I spoke to the folks at EA and they told me Z1R connector is not available with ConX termination, since Z1R uses a special mmcx connector. Is this the regular mmcx connection that you are using with the Z1R? Thanks
Cross post from the ”Pictures of Your Portable Rig” thread
Might as well post it on here too lol
Upon the release of the IER-Z1R, I knew I had to hear it right away. I’ve been trying out loads of different IEMs along the way but it was the Z1R that got me back in the game. It holds a special place in my heart and in my ears for its sheer size of sound! If you haven’t yet, make sure to give it a listen and you never know your ears may be one of the chosen ones
Featuring the Sony x Kimber MUC-M12SB1 with EA ConX & Premium Pentaconn 4.4 jack.
What are you using on the U18t, Matt? Did you find anything that lowers the brightness while not killing (or perhaps even pronouncing) the mids?I’m using AET07 on Indigo. They work well with several of my IEMs, including Jewel, EVO, Erlkonig. For others I use the Xelastecs, mostly.
I certainly appreciate the variety of IEMs they have, the whole setup, etcetera, but after listening extensively to the Odin and taking it off my wishlist they insisted I would listen to it with a very expensive DAP. I let them know I wasn't really interested in the Odin anymore nor in buying an expensive DAP but wanted to listen to the Traillii again with a different cable to see if I could make it work as I thought I was almost there. And while refusing the latter they came back 4 (four) times on listening to the Odin with that DAP instead. You can certainly do that once or twice and I won't take offense but appreciate the efforts instead. But after 4 times I started feeling a bit silly to be honest and wondered if perhaps they had too many in stock while knowing there'd be a successor coming up shortly. So that in combination with refusing to let me listen to the Traillii with a different cable was a bit much for me. I'm too polite to make a point of it while there so my natural response is to leave the premises, pondering about what I had done wrong. Interesting thing is they didn't know I would want a different cable with the Traillii if I had decided to buy, so at that point it would (or at least could) have been a separate expensive cable to be sold on top of the Traillii/PW Audio package. Why would you want to refuse such a thing?ouch sorry to hear that... Mind sharing your experience? As it was always a delight for me every time i come over to audition anything they have over there...
If only you had been 3 days earlier, my friend... I visited Jaben and knew they had the Twilight. But they surprised me telling me they had the Turii (Ti) which I had been looking for for a mighty long time as you now. After eventually taking it off my wishlist I forgot to get a quick impression on the Twilight. I could do it a month from now if you're still interested at that time. I might be too critical to keep you enthusiastic after reading though...
Tnx much for that Frankie as that veil is one of the few things that remained for me after pairing the Mason FuSang with a much better cable. I'm really looking for open yet lush mids with plenty of air that make the singer step in front of the instruments for a more intimate listening experience. If the result you're explaining is reached with the cable provided then all the better. I seriously need to look into pricing though. Are you aware of any write-up comparing the various UM offerings in that quality segment? For sure I can't find all 5-6-whatever to compare...Well, unfortunately you can forget about the better price. However, the UM RedHalo/Le Jardin ( they are exactly the same internally ) do lift a slight veil in the midrange from the Mason FuSang. They are vocal specialists and I would highly recommend you find a way to demo them if you are thinking of purchasing the FuSang. Good luck on your journey.
Owwwww!Didn't know it is that much polarizing. I must say I find it good but not perfect for my playlists.
There are a lot of specialist IEMs out there which do one aspect very well, but the vocal performance of the MSF is just out of this world. I can't get that joy with any other headphone, not Susvara or the like.
Since I did my first listening session only with classical music, acoustic jazz, and singer-songwriters that would certainly explain my enthusiasm for them. I'm extra interested in the plugged-in session coming up because of your comment now though. Hope they still hold up.I completely agree. I say it is best for anything with a voice. Also, almost anything with an instrument because fundamental frequencies for all voices and instruments are in the mids except for the lowest notes on bass instruments. It is absolutely a flavored listen, but it is my favorite flavor.
That was my major point 8-9 months ago which (fair enough) got laughed at. I really meant it though as I kept and keep on reading most replace the stock cable with a much better one, simply because they can. So to me it looked more like a marketing trick to get more money because of the "super special cable" while knowing few would use it. Make it optionable and everyone is happy. It avoids extreme situations like I wrote above about the Traillii too. What's wrong in loving and wanting to buy an Oriolus IEM without being forced to buy something from a non-related brand anyway?Sometimes I wonder what the point is of putting a really nice cable with an IEM because the people most likely to appreciate it are also the most likely to replace the cable no matter what it is for one they like more.
Although I had some remarks on its sound the "performs way above its price level" in my recent impressions underlines your words. I thought the most interesting differences between, say, sub 3k IEMs and the ones above had to do with the quality of their imaging and they way they handle dynamics. The Diva surprised me with siding with all those vastly more expensive IEMs on those points.Have you heard the Diva? It’s my favorite Elysian IEM. The max bass setting with a smoother DAP (the upper mids and low treble to me can be too present depending on track) is such a fun listen. For $1500, dare I say it, I think it’s a steal.
Settled on spiral dots ++ for now. Kind of miss how comfortable it is.I rarely use Azla Crystals on anything anymore. I find the other Azla tips are better. The Crystals give you a great seal, but they tend to thin out the sound of the IEM. The AzlaSednaEarfit tips are my favorite. The come in long and short, Light and Dark. I always maintain all 4 of them ready for demos and I try them all too see which ones sound best with the IEM and DAP pairing I am listening to. I use the dark and long version (black with gray gasket) of the Azla with Indigo . I find it gives the Indigo the best bass response. But, you tune it to taste. The main reason I like the Azla tips is because they give me the most reliable high quality seal with comfortability.
Are you coming back to SG eventually? Can adopt when you’re back. Life isn’t the same without dogs hahaLove them! I had a Singapore special too which I adopted about 20 years ago as a puppy together with a pure while Husky which was then 5 years old. Brought both of them to Vietnam. Sadly both have since passed away and the apartment I am living in does not allow for pets.
Miss my mutts!
Probably they have stock for Odin. Traillii order will probably take a month or 2 from order to delivery. They have Traillii promo at times, instead of the listed 8888, I think it was 7200 during canjam singapore.I certainly appreciate the variety of IEMs they have, the whole setup, etcetera, but after listening extensively to the Odin and taking it off my wishlist they insisted I would listen to it with a very expensive DAP. Hey buddy, it's actually just the normal ConX MMCX connector that I used. I didn't have any problems with it while using it. But since I liked using the Z1R case, I ended up just using the stock cables more and more. The Kimber cable somewhat softens the treble energy a bit too much for my liking as well so I stopped using it on the Z1R.Nice setup!! Curious, how did you get the EA ConX on the Sony M12SB1 ? I spoke to the folks at EA and they told me Z1R connector is not available with ConX termination, since Z1R uses a special mmcx connector. Good to see you. Sounds like the announcement of an announcement..Figured I’d post it here too since there’s more eyes at then moment since EE has been silently grinding…
Got some great news that a prototype I heard a bit ago is going to get a production date soon!!

I'm currently using the Radius Deep Mount, from Japan. I don't have the luxury of tip rolling for sound though. My priority is a solid fit, because my right ear has a tendency to through visitors out, even if they bring great music.. The Deep Mount have a peculiar shape, which works well for me. I use it on several 64 audio IEMs, which have a similar, narrow stem. What are you using on the U18t, Matt? Did you find anything that lowers the brightness while not killing (or perhaps even pronouncing) the mids?
Tnx... Looks like you're using m15 with them? Or is it the light on mx that makes them look a bit lighter perhaps?I'm currently using the Radius Deep Mount, from Japan
Yes, I'm using M15 with the U18T. (On the U12T I prefer the MX.) I'm listening to the U18T right now. It's bright but not too much for me.Tnx... Looks like you're using m15 with them? Or is it the light on mx that makes them look a bit lighter perhaps?

I preferred the mx on the U12t too. For the U18t I prefer the m20 ONLY because it drops the treble a bit which makes the mids stand out slightly. I would want to use the m15 though if I find a different/better way to tone down the treble. Maybe it's just because I want the lows and mids to have a bit more weight.Yes, I'm using M15 with the U18T. (On the U12T I prefer the MX.) I'm listening to the U18T right now. I'm quite late to the IEM world, joining in mid 2020, so I missed the controversies. But I agree that the U18T is very underrated. And I guess not talked about much because it's an older release. I'm happy to own one though, that's all I care about..I preferred the mx on the U12t too. For the U18t I prefer the m20 ONLY because it drops the treble a bit which makes the mids stand out slightly. Have you ever read the SBAF discussion on the U18t? I was baffled that some found it very very bright while others called it extremely dark. It's one of the most polarizing write-ups I've seen (although it looks like I did my best with my impressions as well ). Except for imaging and dynamics being worse than the Mason FuSang and Traillii (but still very very good) I think the U18t is really underrated. Perhaps it became a permanent black sheep when it entered the market using an 18 BA setup, slapping many audiophiles in the face, and never recovered from that? Knowing that I was initially looking for a single DD IEM I guess I came a long way and picking the U18t, Mason FuSang, and Traillii as my favourites is all the more surprising.
