I listen to pop and rock, and some R&B. Would you recommend the Somic HF463, Somic EFi-82 MT, Takstar HI-2050, Superlux HD-681 EVO, or Superlux HD-668B?
It depends on how you want the music to be presented..
Somic 463 is a small venue close to the music
Superlux is a slightly bigger venue with a bit extra bass
Takstar is a fairly big venue and are more clear in the sound..
I have not heard the new 681 so I am using the old 681 as reference..

nice find, i wonder if it is a takstar pro80 or an isk hp2011. i had the isk and found it to bright sounding. do not know the takstar though
I've just got the 2050s, and I'm 7 hours in already, plus one or two movies. Amazing! Playing some sine sweeps through them I've found they have a particularly nasty peak at about 6500 hz. That peak colors the sound in a bad way.. voices are particularly affected. There's also a subtler one at aprox. 4400 hz... but my PX100 also has that one. There's also the 7000-7500 hz peak, but that one happens with every headphone... Once you get rid of that 6.5khz peak with a parametric equalizer... damn, I can't believe what I've paid for this level of sound quality! An amp is definitely needed, these want power, all you can feed them!
I'm getting used to the clarity, but the quality is definitely there. I'm coming from the PX100s, these are like the complete opposite in terms of treble compared to the takstars... even though they're not in the bass side of things, I've never heard bass and sub bass like this.. Takstar knows its stuff. I can't take them off my head, lol
