The Takstar, Technical Pro, Gemini Greathon, CyberX, Qpad Thread

The Takstar TS-662 cost arround $83 dollars. I don't know what you want from me. I wouldn't buy them for this price without a detachable cable. So what's the problem? I don't own or work in a headphone company. Monoprice sells a headphone for $15,99 with a detachable cable and Takstar can't offer such a solution for a $83 priced headphone?

Just because your selling midrange priced headphones doesn't mean that you can't add a feature like a detachable cable. Takstar has also headphones with a detachable cable. Problem is I can't buy them anywhere.

Under $100 is still lower budget range.
Maybe you should start a headphone company.

What I did was actually mod my Takstars to have a removable cable instead of whining about it.

+1. If detachable cables are important to you, this is about the easiest mod ever :)

..or, if detachable cables are so important for you, and you can get it in that monoprice for $15.99, go for it!

I'm sorry but examples of "midrange" headphones are; AKG K702/Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro/Fostex T50RP/
Sennheiser HD558 & 598 ...

Anything $150 to $300...

Personally I prefer non - detachable cabled headphones. This is because the signal goes straight from the source to the drivers without interruption...I guess i'm a purist.

Still love my Sennheiser HD600's though...how could one not like them. Clearly an exception.

I don't find the soundstage on the HI2050 significantly better than that on the Pro80. In my opinion the HI2050 has a poor soundstage for an open can and the Pro80's got a very good one for a closed can but obviously YMMV....

I got both headphones and the soundstage on the pro 80 isn't as good as the soundstage on the HI 2050's. But overall it's personal preference.

You really should try the ISK HP2011. Soundstage is wider more clear with better extention on both ends. I own all 3 of these models -Pro 80, 2050, and HP2011, while the ISK HP2011 definitely sounds better than both.

Of course, this is one of the reasons I was talking about; others would be cost and QC.

Very interesting! Thanks for the share!

My next step from Pro80 was the Soundmagic HP150. They're really on another level, but then again, they cost a bit more. Managed to get them for a very decent price off of a fellow head-fi member, and if you manage to do that, I would strongly recommend it. I still consider the Pro80 incredible for the price though.. :)

What is the difference between ISK HP2011 and Pro80, by the way? They look very similar to Pro80..

Guys, you should try Meizu HD50. they are incredible value for $60. The only thing lacks compared to Pro80 is the 3D sound. Presentation is forward and slightly closed compared to Pro80. But in every other department it equals or beats Pro80. Bass is the first thing you will notice on these. Its so nicely done. Punchy with great extension...just perfect on my Fiio X3ii. Mids sound natural and highs are clearer too. Plus they have removable cable, light in weight, looks are great too.

If price is an issue? .....definitely take a "step down" to the ISK HP2011, since I believe they cost less. Yes! They do have the same body structure as both the Pro 80 and 2050. And even though they are closed, they are more transparent and clear, when compared to both! The details are immense-full! Even the bass notes are clear and fast. After evaluating these, they just took my senses to another level!

Check-out the frequency response and diaphragm size, which should be different to the Pro 80 and 2050's.....

To me, the sound signature is as sweet as that EQ graph you see above. No joke! They DO NOT sound harsh, sibilant, or even peaky at all.

There's got to be anywhere between 8 to 10 companies using the same housing as the Pro 80's, but these headphones in respect to the Pro 80's took me to another level! You could pick-up smaller details throughout the bigger soundstage, with better seperation of instruments, and a better sense and feel to the midrange and vocals.

PS. Today I'm going to the headphone shop to see if they carry the ISK HF2010. This is the "open version" of the same model. I will be testing those against the Takstar Hi2050.

.....can't wait for lunchtime here in China.

.....OK, they didn't carry them. I'll try another shop next week.

I'm not really looking for another closed headphone, since I believe that even if they beat the Pro80, they're  going to have a hard time replacing my HP150. However, I have been thinking about adding an open headphone, just for the fun of it, and I actually thought about the HI2050.. But then they had increased the price etc, so I never pulled the trigger. That being said, I'd be very interested in hearing if that ISK one is better :)

I can let you know by next week if the other headphone shop carries the HF2010. If they do carry them, I'll do an A and B comparison with the hi2050.

Sounds good! I wasn't able to find them on ali though..

What's the difference between new and old version HI2050? I suppose mr grouchy blocked me (which was rather entertaining), but maybe someone else can answer that question?
